Sonakshi, I really want to like you...but that statement...whaaat. Stop, stop, stop. No. You're telling people not to bring their brains or personal perspective while watching movies? Are we supposed to come as robots or only brings our visceral organs? Good lord.

Anyways, for everyone who thinks she is being a hypocrite: here's the curve ball, she's not. She ACTUALLY picked 'box office performance' over Lootera's critical acclaim in an interview. I kid you not, someone asked do you prefer the tremendous appreciation from the critics that you got for Lootera or the box office appreciation for films like (insert her indiscernable masala movies)...and she said...I prefer the box office.

I don't even understand. Sona has no soul.

P.S. Success party was thrown by Phantom and Balaji to do damage control and cover up the financial loss by highlighting the critical success. Sonakshi legit probably ate the cake and went home grooving to Gandi Baat playing in her car.

Criticism does not mean biased criticism.. "only appreciation" is a far off thing..Did they care to write about how good the comedy, action & screenplay was for RR..Nowadays the purpose of review is to just reveal the plot & talk derogatorily about it..

If Rajeev Masand did not appreciate masala movies..why did he invite Rohit Shetty to Director's round table..now suddenly he is critically acclaimed..is it?

Critics should start their reviews by saying personal view only...😛

What a lady??!!! This one changes her POV and stance according to her convenience. Critics are doing their job. If you can't accept it don't ridicule their job. Its the same way she ridicules other actresses for wearing short clothes cos she can't wear one. Sick of this hypocrite. Now end of the year she will go collect all critics awards shamelessly.

One right does not make the wrong right..😆 ..if critics got one film right does not mean their POV has to be blindly accepted in all cases..😛

I think she really wants to just make money. Ranveer called her very detached. Maybe she doesn't care to be part of sensible films and is in it for box office success.

I have a question ... Lootera was liked by the audience too, no?

It wasn't liked by the critics only.

I'm trying to understand Sona's perspective ... If it was bashed by the critics and people still ended up appreciating the movie ... then what?

I understand what you are saying and also that you have personal stake in this because she starred in R...Rajkumar. Yes, critics do get it wrong many times and movies that are good, or movies that a certain segment of the population does find enjoyable in whatever way do not always correlate with how the critics have viewed them. However, she can probably express that a lot more eloquently by saying that her measure of appreciation lies more with the audience, no matter what their views may be, rather than dismissing critics for 'bringing personal intellect' into the experience of watching something as subjective as movies and after all doing what their job is supposed to be: measuring a movie's strengths and weaknesses as per their perspective. What she said is just insensible and quite honestly can't be defended because forget critics, a certain part of the audience brings their brain to the theater too. Some people may be okay with turning off their brains for fun, but that's not going to happen for everyone...and those people are going to slam or call her out on those movies...and statements like this.

All that apart, the bigger problem is how $$$ seem to be the only measure for her. As someone approaching something that is supposed to be an art form, what does that say about her priorities and sensibilities and the dilution of the craft at the hands of people with such goals? Simply, she doesn't really give a toss about being an actor.
