Firstly, this is a joke.

Secondly, he has always been what he is. He doesn't pretend to be someone he is not. He is not bashed because of statements like these for we expect it from him. He doesn't put up the image of a saint outside, only to exploit it on the inside. Being genuine is horrible, but masquerading as the paragon of virtue is celebrated. Therein lies the basic problem of India. It's victorian mentality.
