Kareena Kapoor has all but signed Singham 2. Director Rohit Shetty has worked with her in hits like Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3 and if all goes well, Kareena will star in Shetty's next, Singham 2, the second part of the 2011 superhit.
Rohit offered Kareena the sequel even before Chennai Express hit the theatres. The actress was keen to do the film and had also consented in principle. But according to sources, the director changed his mind later as he felt that the role was perhaps too small for an A-list actress, and it wouldn't justify Kareena's star status.
A source close to the development said, "But now, Kareena has a bigger role in the film. The final script has a lot for her and she could not refuse the offer. She has met Rohit again and consented."
Rohit plans to put Singham 2 on floors early next year.
