I think Ranveer was genuinely really excited to work with Kareena. He seemed like a complete fanboy whenever he spoke of her, and that too very fondly. I think his admiration was taken in the wrong way and I do think Kareena didn't really approve of it. I remember reading how embarrassed she felt when she first met Ranveer? I do think Kareena judged him and the wrong way..and he kind of indirectly does say that.
Kareena may not have opted out of Ram Leela solely because of Ranveer but I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of the reasons. Ranveer is now becoming a somebody in bollywood, but back then when he originally signed onto Ram Leela he was still considered a newbie. Then with Kareena further declined Zoya's next which ALSO had Ranveer roped in (after Ranbir backed out) how can you even blame Ranveer for saying what he's saying? The fact that he even stresses on how elitism and people being condescending is a put off, says a lot here too. It's sort of like Ranveer was a complete fanboy of Kareena's until he realized that there's more to stars than just their pretty faces and onscreen persona. I'm not putting Kareena down, but after the continuous declines to films which had Ranveer and her to have kind of judged Ranveer for his admiration towards her..he's justified to feel whatever he feels now.
Ranveer must also be having the last laugh now..he's on a rise and Kareena declined TWO films with this guy..perhaps not knowing what she'd lose out on.
