I know, often times we feel that because we live in America/Canada/UK or anywhere else abroad that we're better off than living in India but that's not the reality. I know for a fact that some women get an abortion if they can find out it's a girl. An aunty actually told my mom this very openly without the slightly trace of guilt or shame. It's so disheartening.

We may think we're better off not living in India but actually this mindset is still hidden within our desi community somewhere.

and this aborting child if its a girl is not only common in india and pakistan, but here in canada too. so lets not just bark here that ohhh only common in 2nd, 3rd world countries. every corner its practiced. i remember this used to be daily news here. fkkking embarrassing it was.
damn...and i ve seen many many times that its daughters who end up taking care of their parents when they are old --needy.
what bullshit society we living in...

faarrr out...

The answer is NO . We r escapist when it comes to movie. We will make DDLJ super hit movie but avoid the movie LOVE SEX DHOKA where the part love inspired by DDLJ but ended with brutal murder in the name of honour killing. i can relate that as a true story where a girls parent murdered her by cutting her into pieces. Where the fantasy met the reality of society. quetion is how many of watch that movie compare to DDLJ.

I think what's more sad is that people are willing to KILL their own children in the name of this "grave crime."

I live in Canada and I know of one case personally but I've heard this on the news as well. There are private ultrasound clinics, they say that they need to be 20 weeks into the pregnancy but there are clinics that will "bend" that rule. It's not as big as India but it's definitely happening.

I was completely in shock when I heard about it too but I've seen it on the local news too, MischiefManaged.

In my city it happened few months ago!
A family the mother-father and brother killed their two daughters because they wanted to accept kind of western culture. Its really sad!

They pretend with them they are going to enjoy vacation they tied them in the car and throw in the river! but glad they got caught!

Because no Religion allow you to kill even an insect so killing your own kids is the biggest sin. Only God had the right to do that.

They do it in the name of religion but its nothing like this its because they have society's influence and they wanna show the man power!🤢

Oh this is just so horrifying! Don't these people have a conscience or something? Children are God's gift to parents and these people just go and kill them off.

Yes Middle Eastern people are way worse when it comes to this than Indians. There was this Egyptian guy..in New York I think..killed two of his daughters because he thought they had boyfriends. And he said he did to honor his religion. It's so sad..the teachers and friends of the girls said the girls were good student and good people. It's heartbreaking. :(

Also..I think this happened in the Middle East as well...this woman got shot because she was talking to a guy on street. Seriously? These people are f**ked up.

And I'm no way looking down at their religion because I'm Muslim myself. What these guys do is totally wrong and unethical. Islam teaches you not to kill other people..only God has the right to take away someone's life.

These stories give me nightmares.

👏 right on...the worst country that treats women like shit is the country that the holy Prophet was born in!
