Why Deepika beats Katrina Kaif!

Deepika Padukone is on a roll! The pretty actress has fast come up in Bollywood and has created a niche for herself. At a time when Deepika did not have too many successful films to her credit barring her Bollywood debut, who would have thought the actress would soon enough make it to the A-List.

Like a phoenix rising from its ashes, Deepika stumped everyone with films like Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and the recent film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.

Believing in the adage slow and steady wins the race, Deepika has certainly beaten other Bollywood beauties to their own game. She is the only actress in the Hindi film industry whose last three films (Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express), all released in 2012, have collected 500 crores in totality, making it exclusively to the privileged club.

This is quite an achievement for any heroine and Deepika has not only proved that she can act, but also that she holds her own in a movie that is specially hero centric, adding her own weight to the project.

And Deepika certainly seems to have beaten her contemporaries including Katrina Kaif who is alleged dating Deepika's ex ranbir kapoor. In an online poll conducted last year-Times top 50 Most Desirable Women of 2012, Deepika beat Katrina by obtaining the Numero Uno spot! She has also been voted as the World's Sexiest Woman (FHM). In an online poll, Deepika has emerged as the most searched celebrity which at one point was a spot earlier occupied by Katrina Kaif.

Deepika has also bagged a lot of endorsements and has many commercials and brands under her belt.

Katrina Kaif started off with Boom in 2003 which boomed at the Box Office but slowly and steadily climbed the ladder of success to become one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood. After doing a few films down South, luck seemed to shine on Kats who went on to give hits like Namastey London, Partner, Race, Singh is King, New York, Raajneeti and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara to name a few. In 2012, Kats had more hits with Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. She's also famous for doing item numbers, be it Chikni Chameli, Sheila Ki Jawani or making a special song appearance in Bodyguard. But 2013 seems to be dull for Kats. Apart from making an appearance in Bombay Talkies, Katrina has one big release in December this year, (Dhoom 3 opposite Aamir Khan).

She seems to be more embroiled in controversies. Perhaps unlike Dips who is known to be extremely open, professional and straight forward, Katrina has always hidden her relationships, be it Salman Khan or alleged boy friend Ranbir Kapoor. Katrina went into a rage when pictures of her holidaying with Ranbir Kapoor in a bikini in Spain, were leaked in the media. She wrote an open letter to the press stating that she needed her privacy. Kats later apologized.

Although she has a lot of brand names under her belt too, Katrina seems to be only appearing in commercials.
