Popularity lasts, its acting talent that runs out eventually. Otherwise why would strong powerhouses like Tabu, Urmila, Karishma Kapoor, Rani Mukerjee be has-beens today? Because they were not "celebrities"...that is why despite having no work Aishwarya is still around, whereas her contemporaries are irrelevant and forgotten.

because Aish had acting skills..with looks she was the whole package,so that argument is invalid.

@mages and unknowndesire. agree with u both...acting is very impt - and If ur an amazing actor u have high chances of lasting longer and also being REMEMBERED for ur acting...popularity comes and goes, its ur acting ability that stays with u...look at Big B, his acting is still as amazing as it used to be...but sadly (and luckily for some actresses) nowadays people aren't bothered abt ur acting... u just need the star power 2 pull in the audience...its all about making the maximum amount of money...not creating quality cinema that will be remembered 4eva.

no one can beat Kat. shes pure candy floss. entertainment is always gaurenteed. acting is not of import in her movies...so...who can really compete?

I don't care who's more popular, who's hotter, who has more ads and endorsements and whatnot. Why Deepika > Katrina for me is because she does what her job requires her to - act. Katrina still struggles to speak fluent Hindi in Hindi movies.
