I have more faith in the likes of Masand and Anupama! Even Raja Sen is fine...but he has this tendency to be overtly critical and cyncial...the last decent review he did was for Lootera...after that he has been trashing every film, left, right and centre!

Nooo! Of course not ...I never take Taran seriously. 😆 What I meant was that films that have early screenings for all critics are usually more critically acclaimed, unless the only "critic" the screening is held for is Taran Adarsh. 😆

huge premiere. i remember from prem chopra to kiran kher to rekha, to whole bollywood attended the premier.

and everyone seemed wowed by the movie.

I am afraid too that the match might affect the movie

its craziness right now around Sachins last match..it is WI batting right now..so once India bats it will be a different craze!

I too am nervous..but we needn't be😊

Ranveer is not a Khan,HR RK or Akki..The opening is not important.The PERFORMANCE is.

Sushant Singh,Ranveer Singh ,Nawazuddin,Irrfan ..They all are getting good offers based solely on the performances.

Except for RamLeela( her smallest film BO wise),Deepika signed all the biggies BEFORE the release of Cocktail.She performed well in those,and the directors,stars saw potential in her...

Ranveer needs to worry about openings after a couple of years..A good steady,surefooted climb, based on a solid body of work,will keep him on the top for the next two decades.

Yess! That was the first time Madhuri's hubby saw how crazy it was and how big a star Madhuri was right?

Probably SLB is just being careful.

Everything has fallen in place for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Kishore Lulla's Ramleela. The First Look paved the way for the film to build on some good promotion while the songs have clicked with the audience as well. Moreover, a year long planned campaign with chemistry' between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone has ensured that everyone, whether inside or outside the film industry, is well aware of what they are expected to bring on screen. Also, since the film would be the first biggie to arrive two weeks after Krrish 3, audience is expected to have built on an appetite to watch a new film in theatres.

The film is being released on a very large scale and though Deepika Padukone is not new to this phenomenon (Chennai Express, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Race 2 were all released quite widely), it would be a new experience altogether for Ranveer Singh who would be seeing his biggest solo release till date. This also means that even with 50%-60% footfalls at an average on the opening day, the returns would be quite handsome.

There are talks in the industry that the film could well enjoy an opening bigger thanYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani , hence crossing 20 crore in the bargain. While one waits to see if it indeed happens, anything in the upwards of 15 crore would be more practical and also huge enough for Ramleela to consolidate its position from that point on.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut's solo starrer Rajjo is releasing on the same day and while the promotion has been good, it would have to be a really excellent product to ensure reasonable occupancy coming its way. While the opening day honours would belong to Ramleela, Rajjo has its chances if supported by terrific reviews and word of mouth.
