Krrish 3 underperforms on day 1 - Page 10

Isnt it too early to judge it?Are the official figures out?

The occupancies were excellent in the morning but then north india completely crashed due to Dhanteras festivities in evening

Any collection of evening is from south or mumbai primarily

Most Diwali films release a week before Diwali or a little afterwards...I don't remember any big releases coming just one or two days prior to Diwali!

Also, genre of the film makes a hell lot of a difference. SRK films are normally love stories, festive, family oriented etc...they match the mood of Diwali!

don't know, but diwali is turning out to be bad time to release movies. ra 1 got great opening, but next day huge drop due to diwali pooja.

I could be wrong about this, but you're so caught up in celebrations that you really don't have the time to go to the theater to watch a movie (that's the last thing on your mind). The whole spirit of Diwali is incredibly amazing. The atmosphere is completely different. Everyone is celebrating. When everyone is in the mood to celebrate the last thing they want to do is watch a movie unless they go out with family or friends.

Diwali time is a good release period because it is after all a major holiday, but it's not the right release to make records, opening day records atleast. Sadly all that matters now is the records and Diwali day, pre-Diwali time is really not when people go watch movies...there's 1001 things to do just to get ready for everything...and then even after that, you wanna relax and have fun with family/friends rather than going to the theater.

Eid, Christmas, and post IPL weekend are best for records.

more than pathaka diwali is giving zor ka jhatka at box office.

Ra.One had a recoed single day on day 2 bcuz the pooja had already took place on day one

it was day one i.e. Diwali 2011 when Ra.One dropped due to Pooja in evenings 😛

Infact Ra.One and Golmaal 3 and JTHJ all opened well and then dropped in the evenings on day one due to Pooja and became better on second day i.e. post diwali holiday

Diwali is on thursday next year so it can release on a holiday friday followed by sat and sun
