why is a diwali release considered bad?

dunt diwali releases usually do really well? like all the srk movies in the early 2000s till 2008 were all diwali releases and they all did well...

Most Diwali films release a week before Diwali or a little afterwards...I don't remember any big releases coming just one or two days prior to Diwali!

Also, genre of the film makes a hell lot of a difference. SRK films are normally love stories, festive, family oriented etc...they match the mood of Diwali!

Krrish...honestly, I don't know which category it falls into!

@AllBlack...30 Crores?😲 That's huge! But are you sure, it has made money down South? From what I know, it has got a very limited release down South because of Ajith's film Aarambam releasing yesterday (btw, it had a genuine BB opening...releasing on pre-diwali just like Krrish!) and it has occupied most of the screens in Tamil Nadu and surrounding states.

Even I heard that it was going housefull etc...then how come these low figures?😕 It was released in close to 4000 screens...and according to reports, had almost 100% occupancy everywhere...then how come it made less money than Besharam on opening day?

Will wait for suitable sources to post genuine figures!

I could be wrong about this, but you're so caught up in celebrations that you really don't have the time to go to the theater to watch a movie (that's the last thing on your mind). The whole spirit of Diwali is incredibly amazing. The atmosphere is completely different. Everyone is celebrating. When everyone is in the mood to celebrate the last thing they want to do is watch a movie unless they go out with family or friends.

It depends what day is the Deewali.. its a 6 day festivals... B4 Deewali its considered distaster to launch a big movie.. thats why RR wanted to release it on Monday.. but then he was convinced that Friday releae wud be better... if the weekend is not stisfactory,.. the follwing weeks thereafter is gonna be gr8..

Why? coz hez convinced the WOM is gonna take this movie to its destiny on BO... Critics will only add the tension.. which is also good 😃

From Momday.. unusually the movie is gonna fly..

First weel.. 120 Crs.. 2nd week.. 90 Crs (a record that wont broken for a long period of times)0

Diwali release is gud if the film releases after Diwali or atleast on Diwali

Diwali Day is the worst bcuz in the evenings entire north India prefers to be at home celebrating

And before Diwali everyone is busy shopping, going to friends houses etc in the evenings too

no time for theatre
