I agree.

She's a bigger star than Ranveer..it'd be interesting to see if she could pull crowds to the theaters with Ram Leela. YJHD had Ranbir while CE has SRK..those two films are obviously a different story.

With that said, I really hope the film does well for Ranveer.

Yeah it will be a big test for her but she has already given hits and winning acclodes for CE.So then too it wont be like its end of her career,as for Ranveer Ssingh he is lesser a star than Deepu so the real test is his.

It's not Deepika's test rather Ranveer's , Deepika has had a fantastic year and the success of CE is just adding to that - the supposed failure of Ram Leela isn't going to stop her because she has like five other movies after that. The real test is for Ranveer to see if he's a commercially appealing actor or not.

For me I am a fan of both DP and Ranveer and hope the film does work for them. This movie gives the same vibes as Lootera, Guzarish, Black etc as of now - the critically acclaimed yet box office failure type movie which is unfortunate since Ranveer deserves much more.

No one saying it will end her career🤪. I am saying whether she can prove she is no 1 in BW, as some articles and people claim.

The facts remain she hasn't given hits with Imran Khan, John Abrahim, Farhan Akthar, Neil Nitin Mukesh ,but with Ranbir, SRK and Saif Ali khan

Last time I checked BBB was a big hit. It was the movie that jumpstarted Anushka's career as well as Ranveer.

He swept all the newcomer awards that year. Anushka won BA at IIFA. So you cant underplay the movies success 😕

Imran Khan may have a better ratio than him, I am not sure of that because I don't follow Imran's career, so Im not sure how he is doing. I hope he is doing better than him., Imran debuted almost 2 years before Ranveer.

Regardless of Imran's ratio, Ranveer is doing a lot better. He has much stronger projects and already he has proven his versatility in just 3 movies. Not to mention he's a bigger star and way more popular.

And what about Imran's First three movies? his debut was a success...after that? Luck and Kidnap?...At least LVRB and Lootera are better than that.

Lootera may be a flop, but the amount of appreciation it has gathered is more than any Imran Khan movie.

I don't even like Ranveer, but the truth is the truth.

But that's besides the point, people in this forum doesn't seem to understand that movies like Black, Lootera and Guzarish are not meant to be commercial successes. Even despite the flop status the appreciation they have gathered is almost thrice the amount that a successful film gets.

Why is everyone here so obsessed with numbers? its almost sickening.

@bold: because that's how Bollywood works. If that weren't the case, then Ranveer shouldn't even worry about Ram Leela..but the fact that Lootera didn't work at the BO means Ram Leela has to become a commercial success of some kind. Same goes for Bhansali..the guy has to make this work otherwise he should stick to producing stuff like Rowdy Rathore for the better.

YJHD did brilliant business and seems like CE will do the same..if Ram Leela fails, regardless..I'd like to think that should reflect something on Deepika's BO pull as well. If you're supposedly the new no. 1 and at the top right now..you should be able to help to pull crowds for your film in which you are the bigger star...otherwise, there's something lacking. The fact that CE has SRK and YJHD had Ranbir was always a given plus for Deepika.

So, of course numbers matter..and in Bollywood, more than the content of the film.
