Box Office Check: Deepika-Katrina Aim At A 100 Crore Hattrick In 2013
Whoever thought 100 crore was a man's thing in Bollywood has judged faultily. With Deepika Padukone'sYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani swiftly making its way into 100 crore club within a week of its release, many lead actresses have reasons to feel queasy about it. Deepika, with her last release has leveled the 100 crore record with close competitor Katrina Kaif who has so far had two films in the 100 crore club!
The reasons for Deepika-Kat's apparent animosity is well known. While Katrina is reportedly dating Deepika's ex Ranbir Kapoor, their professional fight has intense personal tinges to it.
Katrina Kaif, who has two of her films in the 100 crore club, namely Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger andShah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan, is currently in an insecure situation of losing her established position to Deepika Padukone.
Deepika, who has been riding high on success in 2013, has delivered two 100 crore film this year! Beginning the year on a soaring note, Race 2 reached itself in the 100 crore in January itself and had maintained itself steady there before being toppled by YJHD, again a Deepika starrer!
The competition will reach its hilt this year itself, as both these actresses are eyeing to create hattrick! With Deepika's most awaited film Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan targeting to attain the 100 crore club, Katrina Kaif isn't far behind. Her December release Dhoom 3 starring Aamir Khan is expected as one of the year's most enthralling films too. With the competition becoming so close between the two, it's important to note who experiences a bigger success! Will they both create hattricks? Or one of them will miss it?
