ETT was entirely carried on SALMAN's shoulder ! HE was the SOLE reason the movie was so much successful,if u remove him from the movie it wouldnt have even cross 100 crs ! Maybe ppl didnt like dabangg 2 as much as ETT ! If kat has so much starpower JTHJ wouldnt have collected less than ra.one

JTHJ was a super hit over seas and a hit in india and that too when it was clashed with another movie that's how big this movie could have done. If others starred in it, it would have not done more in fact it would have done much less if the likes of kajol and madhuri starred cause audience do not want to see them onscreen anymore😛

I think the success of YJHD has a lot to do with "OOOH EXES BACK ON SCREEN" and since Deepika is one-half of that relationship, I'm gonna give her credit for it.

Good (but annoying) marketing, popular music, great buzz, ARK are other factors of course. But I think Deepika deserves credit. And Ranbir-Deepika chemistry really clicked... and I hate to admit this, but the movie made me start liking them as a pair again and I hope they do more movies together.

As for RL, I don't see Ranveer-Deepika being liked as much as Ranbir-Deepika, so it won't do as well. At least, it feels like it. Plus YJHD connected with the youth, don't think RL will have the same effect.

In conclusion, I don't think Deepika has amazing star power either. But she gotta be given credit where it's due.

Plus D2 is part of a popular franchise. But yeah, you're right... ETT did have an extended holiday weekend release and all that. BUT STILL, I think Katrina should be given some credit, psht.

I strongly disagree that the blockbusters ETT/JTHJ/YJHD are simply riding on the hero's wave (Salman, ShahRukh, Ranbir) The lead actress has a role and they are crowd pullers too-the large fan following and the opening collections are attributed to the lead pair esp the young audience looks at love couple. If this were not true then why we dont see these same superstars working opposite say Sunny Leone🤢🤢 or Rakhi Sawant or Yana Gupta😆😆or Mallika Sherawat-despite being a lead actress!

Overseas movies work only because of star power in this case Shahrukh

I'm from America, we love Shahrukh so yeah if it comes to overseas than Shahrukh is the King of sure. But India has their star power that works in their own box office

If the same scripts were given to ranveer or Arjun I don't know they would be as big today
