This whole controversy is reminding me of the Vanessa Hudgens scandal in 2007. An ex boyfriend released nude and lingerie photos of her all over the internet. It was a huge scandal for a teen star to have nude photos and rumors circulated that Disney would drop her from HSM 3 because her reputation was ruined. Disney has strict contracts about the public image of their stars.

Disney then did something really classy. They didn't drop her from the film. They announced that they had signed her. Instead of letting her be on her own Disney PR backed her up and said she had a lapse of judgment in her private relationships. She did not intend to release these images online and people ought to respect her privacy. They did their best to support her and said that a lapse of judgment should not tarnish a girls reputation.

People do stupid things. When people are in love with someone and trusting, or perhaps even desperate for attention - they put themselves in compromising positions. Even conservative housewives will send nude photos or make sex tapes with their husbands. Not everyone who does so is a Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian who is whoring for attention. If such private clips are made public, it is not the person's fault - but the fault of the person who released it.

The media has a choice. Capitalize on the scandal and sensationalize it further. Or take the Disney approach, backup someone who made a mistake.

Mona Singh has filed a case and is claiming that it is not her! Could be true!
