What's with these gratuitous pot-shots at India and its justice systems? At least Sanjay Dutt can be convicted in this country. Anone knows when the leaders of LET and Hafiz Syed and Dawood would be convicted.. or even charged?

I agree with this..It's quite irritating how everyone tries to find mistakes with everything. Why was the rapist given a lawyer(It's a rule of natural justice..a fundamental right..if laws were dispensed with like that, it would be mocking the institution of democracy). Why is Salman not being convicted(India's legal system is slow..nobody is denying that..but just coz you want a celeb to be punished doesn't mean the courts can get him to jump the line). Why has Sanjay been given only 5 years punishment and not more or not less.

It's so easy to paint everyone in the same color and generalise. So easy to call the judiciary corrupt.
I am not saying India doesn't have issues..We have major issues..We have scams breaking out all the time, we have health and poverty related issues, overpopulation etc to name a few.. And we understand that!

It's just irritating when people make statements in the air without understanding the complexities involved!

Nobody is asking people to not give their opinion on stuff..But at least have a rational basis for that opinion.

I wouldn't want to comment on the latter half of your post, coz I don't understand the working of those countries to be able to comment on them.

Is he a terrorist? NO
Did he break the law? YES
A regular guy will not have Ak-47's and grenades in his house. He might not have known about the conspiracy of the Mumbai blasts but he indirectly became a part of it..
I do not feel sorry for him.I feel bad for his family.

👏

Seriously i could not believe people who where complaining about it. If you don't provide them a lawyer you can't have a trial. It would have further delayed the trial. Its a fundamental right of everyone to have a lawyer in court.

Being disgusted by a crime doesn't mean you undermine civil society. Ensuring a free trial is necessary. To pick who is guilty and who is innocent is the work of the judiciary and not the lawyers. The point of lawyers is to ensure the system has balance. The men accused of the terrible crime might be guilty-with the case now before the courts, they can either plead guilty or be proven guilty on available evidence, That's the justuce system. So I presume you want to get rid of a system that presumes innocence!

A better justice system does not mean refusing to represent the accused. This results in the entire system spiralling down. Compassion for the victim does not require the undermining of the judicial system. It is inhuman to deny anyone the fairest trail possible, no matter how inhuman the crime alleged be.

Edit: I am so sorry! I just saw the clap emoticon and my bheja got garam..and didn't even read further!
Eeeks! I'm sorry.
