I dont know the defintion of masala films, but I've loved several films like Om Shanti Om, and Hera Pheri. are they considered masala films? I just don't like any films that have been released in the last three years. Last film I watched without feel uncomfortable was Pyar Ka Punchanama.

I have not seen Dabaang, Ready, Son of Sardar, and Rodwy Rathore. I don't like films that repeat a storyline or sequences. I get bored easily. I dont plan on seeing any of these films.

@guess_who totally agree with you. As you have said the problem is not with the movies but the repetitiveness of the same kind of movies. Its ok if we have a handful of such movies releasing in a year, but now-a-days every other movie is made on the same line. I mean where is the creativity? Film-maker has taken the audience for granted. They think "who needs a script, lets put some over the top action sequence, cheesy dialogues, raunchy item songs and pepper it with 3-4 jokes(which just makes u chuckle)" or "why to do so much hard work lets just take a ready-made movie from the south and bollywoodize it".

On one hand they speak about how they want to bring the Bollywood over the world map, make it famous all over world, make it par with Hollywood. Is this what they want to show the world. I have felt so much proud while reading review and comments praising the movie "3 idiots" by people of countries like China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong(these people never watch bollywood movies). But now instead of being progressive its just regressing.

An intelligent person would know the difference between watching a movie for entertainment and listening to a lecture at an University to gain knowledge...

Kareena : Liver mein do goliyan lagi hain. Tum kahan ho?
Saif : Helicopter mein hoon. Bomb ke saath.
Then they hyperventilate about the password for that dirty bomb and Kareena who has been shot goes 'Password uske Ooo-Oont ka naam hai'. Hilarious!! 😆 😆

I have liked almost all Govinda movies as a kid but these days I find it hard to laugh at the golmaal series et al but doesn't mean I'll stop watching these masala comedies.
Pseudo-intellects found faults in Vicky donor too but I had a gala time watching it.
What pleases me doesn't have to please everybody.
Also I still have the right to criticize what I want to.If I dont like it then good reviews or box office performance doesn't matter to me.
