Priyanka did not have a bad debut, she actually had a very strong debut. Thats why she won almost all of the best newcomer awards. Not even that, she was nominated for Best supporting actress for her debut performance.

She gave at least one huge hit almost every year except 2007/2010 since that year:

- 2004- Aitraaz (which she also won best villain for this is the 2nd year of her in the industry)
- 2005- Decent successes with Bluff Master and Waqt.
- 2006- Don
- 2008 - Fashion and Dostana
- 2009- Kaminey (widely acclaimed performance)
- 2011- Don 2, 7 Khoon Maaf (did wonders for her acting)
- 2012- Agneepath - Barfi.

As an actress she's doing well, and I actually really appreciate her work. But her new "singing venture" kind of killed everything for me. 🤢

don't know if you have seen her movie andaaz, she sucked in this movie that was the first movie i saw of her but Lara was way better then.

Its one song out of one whole album. She has big people handling her...apparently has songs with Pitbull and all lined up.

In my city was strictly okay as a song but the video was second hand embarrassment...still I think it's a little to early to write her music career completely off. And of course her PR is going to hype everything up. That's their job.

don't want to completely write her off, but I personally found 'In my citaay'' pathetically fobby. The singing was mediocre, swag/attitude was evidently phoney and the dancing was tacky. I think she is going about this the wrong way. This is tried and tested formula and conforming to what she thinks the west want most likely won't work. She is just coming across as another desperate bollywood chick trying to make it big in the american/British music /film scene.

William couldn't even help Cheryl Cole's career take off, (she's very attractive and was once the United Kingdom's sweetheart, btw) so no, William and random collaborations with big artists won't gaurantee success. Most artists start off with doing their own thing/making their presence felt before the big collabs come about. I doubt she will start belting out lyrics like Beyonce or Adele any time soon. If she was genuinely brimming with talent, she should have come up with something far more unique. That being said she evidently has a huge number of south asians impressed with her 'hip' and 'happening'' debut single. lol.

^^^ Exactly. Cheryl can't sing for shite. The reason she did so well is because (1) Girls Aloud were huge, and she was one of the most popular/loved members; (2) she was on our screens every week on X-factor people grew very familiar with her and her popularity sky-rocketed because of the whole 'Britain's sweetheart' angle the tabloids were taking. If it wasn't for these two things she would have flopped big time. Priyanka has none of this in the US.

Cheryl also had her own personality, and style - love or hate it at least it was original.
