Aishwarya looks really bad these days in the work she has done since her pregnancy. She has'nt been able to lose weight after her pregnany. In films/ads the onus is on looks. Hence we have her posing awkwardly in her photoshoots/promos with her hair and camera tricks being used to cover the bloated body and cheeks. Anyone else less than Bachchan bahu and most beautiful woman in the world would have been fired long back. But its obvious she has her contacts that helps her retain her job with Loreal/some firangi watch company. Its high time she gets back into shape like other professional women in her field and stop hiding behind the pregnancy excuse.

Where exactly are the reports that directors are eagerly waiting to work with her, apart from sourceless, anonnymous PR exercises?

After the debacle of Heroine, there were reports that Raj Kumar Santoshi was waiting for her to return back in his film Ladies and Gentlemen. Raj Kumar Santoshi dealt with the news by signing Preity and then shelving the project altogether. Then came reports Mani Ratnam was waiting to do a film with her.. Suhasini Ratnam outright denied it.
Any objective person can see that unless she is signed for a Nirupa Roy kind of role there is no way she is fit to come back to mainstream BW movies with the shape she is in right now. All these breathless speculations about her grand re-entry are not worth 2 cents.

I think she's having a great time getting shagged by Abhishek. I mean, if I was Abhishek, I wouldn't be out of my bed at all.

the only choice for Aishwarya is do movies like Kahani where there is no need for an actor...and she is not good at that...none of the young actors will look good with Aish because she will look like their mother and that is just the harsh truth...she even looks much older than Abhi...the older actors like salman and SRK want to work with young girls...there are not much choices for her left...Kareena is still much younger than Aish and she is in a good shape that is why she is getting some movies but even Kareena looks older comparing to Imran and the others...it can be easily seen that her beauty is fading as she is aging...it is better for her to just retire

You are mistaken. Star power is the ability to draw crowds to theatres. Being in news all the time is not star power. Rani gave hits even with likes of Vivek and Abhishek, which Aishwarya could not. Aishwarya's memorable films are also those Khan and Roshan films only. Latest one being a Rajinikanth film.

Rani is "nowhere" now because she was an actress, not a beauty or pop culture icon. As actress she got replaced by others. She may have continued like a Vidya if she had not remained stuck to YRF and not messed her life. She's no exceptional beauty or hyped icon so doesn't feature in ads.

Aishwarya is also nowhere only as an actress. All the limelight she gets is as a beauty, celebrity, in her ads and other awards she keeps getting for beauty. Her PR has been hyperactive forever. It's not like filmmakers are waiting outside her house to sign her for films.

Her PR always bragged lot more than what was actually there. According to them she rejected even marriage proposals from business tycoons like Ambani, Sabeer Bhatia etc., rejected prestigious films opposite stars like Will Smith, Brad Pitt in Hollywood, rejected all big films in Bollywood...hahaha! 😆 Someone please tell me why she rejected all of these to settle for Abhishek Bachchan or do films like Dil Ka Rishta, Action Replay and other forgettable films? She was supposed to lend her voice to some famous animated film also. Where's all that? Feku chand!

Let's accept she's huge down South. So are they waiting to sign her for lead roles?

All she has is past glory of beauty, hype, curiosity attached to her as Bachchan bahu, global celeb hype and some foreign brand endorsements - plus PR noise to keep her in news.

Aishwarya can keep showing off her beauty in ads like ageing Hema and Rekha. Most of her movies were flops any way, no one cared whether she did movies or not as long as she was visible in some way or the other - which she was in plenty.

Katrina Kaif may not get extra hype that Aishwarya gets, but she'll be remembered as one of THE reigning box office queens and most popular stars of all time (someone who had actual popularity, not just limited to PR, online polls and beauty awards). Very few female stars have held this kind of sway over audience and whose names alone translated to BO gold.

Yeah I think so, more or less...as an actor at least. To me she seems to be in a happier space...she's almost more likable as a mother. At least something about her finally seems warm. Otherwise, she used to appear so COLD to me, just like Katrina always has.

On the whole she was a limited actress...excelling in drama's mainly. So unless she does come back with all those period dramas Karan Johar reportedly wants her in, I'm not sure she'll have a legit acting comeback.

The rest we'll keep seeing. Her PR is overactive that ways anyways.
