They do a lot of things to make likes of Rajini and Kamal look young in their films. So if the same make up, special effects and other technology is used to make Amitabh look young (say 30-40ish) and he plays hero like he used to, then will his film work? Will it get accepted?
You asked "what is anyone's problem", I felt same. But if I were to answer this question, I'd say age seems visible no matter how much they try to make the person look young, plus I get tired of the actor trying to do similar heroic roles which I've seen him doing for 2 decades. And even if I love an actor, after a certain age I'd expect him to be different even in his offscreen image, and explore different side to him as an actor (than merely trying to pass off as former self or prove he still has same appeal). When I say age-appropriate I mean different, new, complex and challenging stuff than merely playing dad roles. I don't know about others, but as a viewer I like to see actors show us something we've never seen before from them...or blow us away doing something which we never expected they could do. Amitabh's role in Paa is one fine example.
