Firstly it is fiction so it should be judged accordingly. A gangster becoming a student at medical college despite its entire staff knowing how he uses unfair means to stay there is also illogical and stupid. But we hail Munnabhai MBBS!
The subject was about religion. Suing God is only a device used by filmmakers to convey their message.
Kanjibhai doesn't believe in God, but he got irked by this Act of God thing and hence went ahead to file a case against God. The religious priests etc. were likened to agents/representatives of God in it. It's all far fetched but not as outlandish in fictional context. The trial served purpose of discovering whether there's a God or not, and how concept of God has become a business. It's illogical only if you skim the surface. It makes sense when viewed in right context within the film.

I think it is a step in the right way. India is a place where people just do what is told without thinking about it. And religion is a weakspot. A lot of people there just accept anything if it's the will of god -though it actually isn't- So this concept was very risky and bold. It was an eyeopener, I don't think it was supposed to be all glamourous and perfect, just trying to prove their point and make it reach people, since Indians love the cinema, this was a great way to spread the word. So, I will have to go with no, I don't think it is overrated. It has been brought very well, I do think Akshay ruined it a bit... he wasn't needed in the film. But overall very well done.</div><div>

Then they should've used a believable premise to set it up. And what did it solve and how? That atheists are wrong and there IS a God after all? 🤣 And Kanji bhai being divinified? Seriously? Why didn't it leave it to the viewers to decide whether there's a God? And must I say for the ZILLIONTH time that I've NO problem with the message, just the PRESENTATION, or lack of it?
And pardon, but the monologues about Godmen and shopkeepers of religion was no way related to the main theme. He was trying to prove there IS a God or ISN'T? That itself was confusing. His dialogues about the non-existance of God become irrelevant in that light. And the corrupt practises of Godmen were brought in purely for the HECK of it; it was nowhere related to the court case he'd filed. End result: A Preachy Tuition for 13 year olds. 😆

Lol...What the hell is preachy???? It was court drama...you are supposed to make speeches...argue ...and defend and put your point across???
Loud??Illogical? Seriously...like there are no people dancing among trees??When did we start caring about realistic cinema..infact this was realistic ..fantasy part was god coming down..

finally some movie could express my views on commercialization of religion.i also loved the dialogues and i found it funny.except that i don't believe that God will come on earth for a human being, He may send his messenger to solve our problems

He did go to the insurance company...they said it was an act of God(and thus not covered under the contract)..look at his plight-everything..just about everything that he'd worked for all his life had fallen apart! he had no alternative left! he didn't believe in God! It was an act done in rage!! His logic was when god men and priests can act as agents of God to fill their own coffers, they should be equally responsible for any liability arising from His action!!
