No producer, in Bollywood or Hollywood, deliberately wants to put such a big gap between sequels. The first two movies in the Dhoom series were only 2 years apart. It's not as if they happily planned for the third one to come after such a big gap. It kept getting delayed for various reasons (Aamir being one).

But sticking to the topic and comparisons to Dabangg alone Dabangg2 didnt do much for the Dabangg brand as say Munnabhai2 did for Munnabhai or Krish did for Koi Mil Gaya or Dhoom2 did for Dhoom. Salman's starpower ofcourse carried it initially but the interest level in the film was zero apart from the fact that it was a Salman film. The trailers and songs didnt help much. Even post release also things didnt change. That would have been ok if we were speaking about a film like Ready or Bodyguard. But the expectations from Dabangg's sequel was on a different level not just from Salman fans but across all sections of movie-goers till the trailers came out.

This is Heights of Expectations. Did Salman films ever got any kind of Recognition from Critics/Media as Class Cinema/Quality Cinema?

If i take example of 3 Idiots, Did any last 5 Salman films got any kind of praise in that way?

Does Salman is consider as Actor like Aamir, Srk, Ranbir, Hrithik by media/Critics?

All those questions will have answer NO.

So who made Expectations, It was MEDIA, Reason, Back 2 back Salman giving BlockBusters.

Now u will come with things like Salman 1-10, Salman phenomena, Salman fans???

But What is this logic that 1 side Right from Trailer to Film Release, Certain Media/Critic section will trash Salman films, bashing, mindless cinema, Crap films... Phir u ask Same SALMAN to give back 2 back 200 cr films??

ETT Score 199 at the base of 2 major things, 1st day holiday - 33 cr huge jump, 2nd Increase ticket rate like 3 Idiots, so it reached near 200 cr with 199 cr.

Salman with Dabangg 2, Non-Holiday day 1, No Ticket price increase reached 160 cr, which is equal to Same ETT if u reduce increase ticket price & give a non-holiday day 1.

2011 mein Ranbir gave Rockstar, picture 60 cr bhi touch nahi kar payi mushkil se... Every Media/Critics plus awards showered him Best Actor + Best Picture.

Did anyone ask about BodyGuard / Ready??

2012 - Salman gave 2 movies 360 cr - ETT 199 + D2 160 - Have you seen any award / Media / Critic even mentioning Salman films??

Jab ppl don't give credit to Salman on those things, Why Suddenly they EXPECT the most impossible thing to achieve for him??

Have we asked BARFI to give day 1 figure of 33 cr?

Can we ask KAHAANI to score 160 cr??

Yeh Sabhi EXPECTATIONS MEDIA Created hoti hai... Salman is just doing his job of delivering Entertainment with his films, ab chahe woh 199 kar jaaye ya 160, i can bet you, even if D2 would have touched 200 cr, you guys would have come with line "CRAP FILM pata nahi kaise kama gayi" which ppl say for BG, Ready, Dabangg.

Koi baat nahin. Aap ko khush karne keliye Sunny Deol Ghayal ka sequel banane ki koshish mein hain. I think that gap will be more to your taste. 😆

Dabangg 2 - Day 1 - 21 cr = Which is equal to = BodyGuard Day 1 Figure which was Holiday

Dabangg 2 being a Non-Holiday starter scored 62 cr Weekend - Which is more than ETT.

Dabangg 2 Scored Biggest 1st MONDAY beating 3 Idiots & ETT + Dabangg.

1st WEDNESDAY beating 3 Idiots & ETT n Dabangg.

Biggest 2nd Week in MULTIPLEX Beating Barfi's record of 2nd week.

Now Becoming 3rd Biggest Film EVER in HINDI CINEMA isn't any Achievement toh phir bas rehne do... Non-Holiday Biggest hai... Even Aamir/SRK don't have 160 cr Non-Holiday Film.

Look at No. of films released on 3rd/4th Week of Dabangg 2 which was not the case in any bigger film which is being in comparison.

3 Idiots, ETT, Dabangg, BG, Ready - Every film got competitions, but No. of films which are released in last 2 weeks against Dabangg 2 is more.

Now Big/Small films ki baat nahi... coz it REDUCES the No. of Shows for Dabangg 2 due to which collection Decreased.
