Can Vidya Balan pull of DDLJ or HAHK

I was reading Katrina can not do female oriented films. But can Vidya do glam roles or even have a god romance pairing onscreen. She is very limited to this films she is doing but she does not get "shit on" for it. I do not even like Kat but she is treated OTT unfairly .

I mean any day of the week Vidya Balan is a better actress. But she never did DDLJ HAHK JWM HUM TUM or a strong love story or an action thriller. Or a comedy film.

Also will she be able to withstand a flop No she is neither good looking nor that charismatics personality.

All she has is her acting skills which again I sat is the LAST THING A PERSON needs in Bollywood

lets see how her next films do. two rom-coms: ghanchakkar with ermaan hashmi and shaadi ki side effects with farhan akhtar.

at least she is trying something new again.

well if she is shown as a sweet and girl next door yes she can do it too..

they just need to work on her clothes it will work for her..

Vidya is an amazing actress...but in my opinion she won't be able to pull off a DDLJ or HAHK type of role...although these roles are much easier than what she has done in TDP or Kahaani...Maybe I am wrong but this is just my gut feeling tht it won't work...i am dying to see Vidya and SRK in a MATURE love story though...

OMG, did u just say Vidya is not good looking?😲I think she has a beautiful face..Classic Indian beauty.Its another thing that she at times ruins it with her horrendous fashion sense but IMO she is way more pretty than Kat(check Paa for instance)..And where do i start about her acting skills.I think she is bloody brilliant.One of the best we have😳 I believe she is the only consistent actress in Bollywood. I cant recall one bad performance of hers.Even in movies like Hey Baby where she was torn apart for her fashion sense, I cant recall anyone criticizing her performance. I don think anyone can pull off TDP,Paa,Ishqiya or Parineeta the way Vidya did.

P.S.Regarding your question, they are not that difficult roles to begin with.Acting wise she can defo pull it off. Whether she would look the part is a different story all together.A younger Vidya Balan would have probably fit the bill. And as far as HAHK is concerned,noone and i repeat noone can play Nisha the way Mads did.The song and dance sequences were the highlight as it din have much of a story to begin with. So it was tailor made for Mads Even Kat,Bebo or Pc cannot pull off that role,leave alone Vidya

You never know but judging from her previous KC and Heyy Baby than no. She just too boring and gets cheesy in a typical Bollywood heroine roles. While someone like Kajol can take a cheesy line and make it believable Vidya failed to do that in Heyy Babby.. it was awkward watching her act. She's just not natural in those roles.

But that's okay not every actor is a complete/versatile actor.

She suits bold roles like TDP and subtle roles like Khaani Parineeta and NOKJ..even though she failed to leave a mark in NOKJ but these kind of roles I think she feels comfortable doing hence she does well in them.

in terms of her looks..she's really pretty. It's just that she's awkward and can't dance..so she doesn't fit into the glam roles. Sonaski is also big but she can dance and has amazing screen presence so she's good in masala films..while Vidya bores you in a masala film because she doesn't have good screen presence.

No. Firstly, she'll never get such a film. Secondly, she's past the age for such films. Thirdly, she's more of a serious actress and known for author-backed roles. I doubt her acceptance in light hearted films or more conventional entertainers. She may be regarded as a classic beauty but still has a very "mature housewife" kind of feel about her. She's not what a Madhuri was and not even a girl next door like Kajol.

Vidya Balan's appeal is still niche and not massy type which guarantees hits like HAHK.

DDLJ, HAHK type films require girlish heroines whereas Vidya is womanly, mature, serious.

Vidya isn't a great dancer either.

An actress like her could've been on top in 50s perhaps. But not now. She's Mother India material not HAHK.

She doesn't need to- she can act- her face has expressions that convey feelings!

Katrina gets flak coz she really can't act! Masala heroines don't need to act much- they need to look good, do nakhras well, dance well as in move their body well and know how to be a bit OTT. But the girl has a pretty face sometimes you can ignore her non expressive face and just focus on how pretty she looks 😆

Some people can do both well like Sridevi. I think Kajol can pull off non-masala roles but she doesn't even try!
