When Does SRK Fans start believing in BOI Film Status of Hit/Semi_Hit?

Last time i checked JTHJ Scored 102 crore at Box office by BOI, which they trashed as not reliable Website...

Now they are dancing on Talaash receiving just a SEMI-HIT Status while other Site has given it a HIT 😆

Talaash's 90 cr Score at BO with Semi-Hit status is much better than SUCCESS / HIT of last 3 Srk films which are huge Disaster in terms of BO Numbers 🤣

Sameer, who exactly is so happy with Talaash being a hit or semi-hit or whatever?

First of all, thank you. 😊

And yes, I found RH loud and regressive as well - at least the second half. The first half was very enjoyable and cute! But the second half of RH was more enjoyable for me than the second half of films like Dil and Ishq. Oh, I also heard a long time ago it was more of a Karishma Kapoor success and really defined her career. I don't care, really. Aamir to me was a cute eye-candy in the film. And I only just look at him throughout. 😆

@bold: I agree. I would much prefer his films like JJWS and Earth being hits over RH.

to me dil chaata hai is his best but heard it was just avg movie no hit ..but I enjoyed it to pieces snd can see it over and over again..a true cult movie

i liked Ishq and some others as well and as you said he has that cute boy image just like imran who i hope starts to take acting more seriously!!

^ Oh yeah, DCH as well. I'm surprised that wasn't a hit either. 😆

Ehhh... at least it's considered a cult film now. That's all that matters for me. 😆

The production house is Aamir Khan Productions and Excel Entertainment. What happened to marketing genius Aamir then? Talaash is an AKP co-production! He went wrong in marketing it?

It's quality? It's got highly mixed reviews and nearly bad WOM. It is not even there in many best films lists and it's rated lower on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes (than what's expected from an Aamir film).

If quality only matters then will you maintain same stance for Dhoom 3? Dhoom movies are quality? And is D3 going to be huge due to Aamir? A star who didn't even give a clean hit in a solo starrer? It's a multi starrer franchise from the biggest banner. It could be be big hit with anyone in it!

Same excuses which SRK fans gave in other thread.

BTW this BO numbers game was started by Aamir only. He prided himself for making TZP among top 5 hits of the year. The crore clubs are also his making. Now he and his fans do a volte face and claim numbers don't matter or numbers obsession corrupted people because Talaash just about scraped in top 10!SRK also did the same. Celebrated OSO's collections like crazy. Now claims he doesn't understand numbers!

Excuse me first of all which thread are u talking about...a little reference would have been good...with the thousands of threads that are being opened about SRK everyday...
But anyways...generally speaking...SRK fans do not need to give excuses anymore than u need to for ur favorite...These are called POVs...and just because u don't agree with them...u try to pass them off as excuses?? Like I said before also this forum runs on POVs ...no one has done a PHD in BW...so quit looking down on people's POVs...they are as important as yours...If u know SRK fans on this forum...u should know that SRK fans can bash SRK more than the detractors...just go and look in the JTHJ discussion and CE threads...we don't give excuses for SRK..period..
When I said that it was Aamirs PH that should have been looking at the promotions...thats the way it should have been...SOTY is also from Red Chillies...how much did u see SRK taking part in the promotions of SOTY...It was KJo all the way...It should have been a collective responsibility of how to promote the movie...
And I don't know what u even mean by Aamir starting the 100 cr club...but if u mean that his movie is the first one to reach 100 cr,...so he somehow becomes responsible for the corruption of the minds that this club is causing...then please ur logic is flawed here...Aamir has also started the 200 cr club...so somehow it becomes his responsibilty that all the movies are trying to get in there even if that means murdering the quality...sorry its not Aamir's problem...his movie 3I made 200 cr and rightfully so...

POV is fine but it's just diverting the topic which is problematic. Like talking about quality in a discussion about BO or talking of acting/quality in a discussion of hits/flops. I am sorry if I wasn't able to convey that.

"u need to do for ur favorite"? Which favorite do I have as per your assumptions? Tell me please!

You cleared about Aamir's PH now. And not in earlier post. BTW how do you think his prod house wouldn't have looked into promotions? He is most conscious about his name attached to something and it doesn't look like he left promotion to Excel alone.

The BO game was started by him only. So my logic is only that he or any supporter shouldn't really say BO does not matter. It is not just about 100 crore club. Aamir has given many interviews in past to business papers like Mint, The Economic Times and channels like CNBC how he made blockbuster hits out of unconventional subjects (TZP). It used to be about Midas Touch Aamir generating big collections for any kind of film. That's the point I made.

Every actor does it, play BO pundit when films succeed, claim no interest in BO if film is moderate or sub par at box office. I did not just single out Aamir.

And please do not assume I am putting you down. I am sorry if you felt so, but I surely didn't intend to do that. It's a discussion going on here, why get personal?

Yes Aamir needs good content for his films to work, but that's because his brand is built on that--"classy films with strong content."

Like SRK's brand is "romantic hero." Emraan's is "kissing." Salman's is massy entertainers.

When the films don't live upto the expectations of that brand, they underperform, simple.

First of all, I loved Talaash regardless of it's BO status. Minus the choppy ending I think the film worked on so many different levels. It wasn't ATBB material from the get go. Talaash is no 3 Idiots, that can actually be viewed with your brain on flight mode. Besides there are very few takers for the suspense genre in our country anyway. I'm glad Aamir took this risk. The film has it's flaws but so do a lot of others and I still love the film for it was.

Firstly, it wasn't about records. Talaash is actually not even a hit (either by BOI, or Taran Adarsh or any other trade analyst).

Secondly, suspense films aren't risks from BO perspective. Gumnaam, Woh Kaun Thi, Gupt, Kahani etc. are all suspense films from different eras but they are at least hits.

Liking or disliking is of course individual preference.
