But I think same with Ajay Devgn and he still carrying on with it. From some political/epic/serious issue films to masala yet tries a bit of Tezz, Raajneeti in between.

Aamir just falls in category where he tries too hard to be different. Like most of them works but I believe he test the those stuff before making them

Aamir would place second though

Lagaan, Mangal Pandey, Taare Zameen Par, 3Idiots and now Talaash. All of these are different from one another and he did them regardless of what the outcome might be. He's not looking to mint money, he's looking for quality!

I feel that Shahrukh took a lot of risks throughout his career of 20 years...although he got typed as a romantic hero...but right in the begining he did the anti-hero roles..in Darr, Bazigar and Anjam...That was a huge risk in my opinion...He started the trend of anti-heroes...and that was a huge risk...because had those movies failed...he would be packing his bags to go back...so without any backing he took the risk...Then once he got established as a romantic hero he did movies like Swades...no glamor in that movie...he got critical acclaim but the movie tanked sadly...Then CDI has a movie w/O any romantic female lead...a big risk for a romantic hero again..it worked this time...Then he did the DON series...as an action Hero...I was like...u r trying to do what AB Sr did...what's wrong with u??..I was wrong..he took the risk it worked...RA-one the debacle was a BIG risk...it failed...but he took it nonetheless..

Salman also started the trend of the soft and shy hero...In a time when the heroes were supposed to be macho , tough men and being shy was a no-no...Salman's shyness in the movie took everyone's breath away...from then every..hero has tried to be shy ...but none could do it like Salman...Salman took risks when he did tere naam and AAA...I hope he does take a lot more risks now...because at this stage of his career he can afford to do that..

Ajay Devgan and Saif are both very versatile like Aamir...I do agree with everyone that they all look risks at some stage in their careers...it paid off or not is a different story..
