It was the hype of oscar being created that made the movie enter 100 crore. There was an article about that even a critic has notice that, they said the movie has used a publicity to get that money

Vicky Donor should have been sent to Oscars but they didnt due to biasness. It had the most original story.

They sent barfi and kahaani and both were inspired. I'm not shocked that they didnt win oscars.

The fact that it entered the Oscars helped the movie the most. People got curious why this entered and they went to the theaters to watch it. That's why it had a great run even after first week!

they should have sent out English Vinglish or even Khaani because those films seemed like original ideas. Barfi, while it was a good film.. I was watching this old movie of kamal Hasan and Sridevi recently.. and I didn't see the film from the beg so I had no idea what was going on.. but I noticed some of scenes in that film were similar to Barfi and I asked my mom if she noticed and she said.. yeah your right! Barfi was def not a good choice for the Oscars.

VD couldn't be send becuase the producers dint send the same to Oscar board in India

EV couldn't be send becuase it released after 30th September, and movies from 30th Sept2011 to 30th Sept 2012 needed to be sent!

The film and gained and earned already 55 crores in first week before Oscar nominations were announced

At last, I m not surprised but still it's my favourite film of year!

I really loved Barfi...wonderful film with performances to back it up! Sadly it was a mistake to send it for the Oscars because it wasn't academy award winning material! Let's face it...a lot of the scenes were lifted from other films. And there were many other Hindi movies that could have been put forward. Huge blooper! But I still loved the movie 😳
