They really should have sent PST. After a long while, Bollywood had made a movie that was perfect bait for Oscars. Barfi never stood a chance.
But oh well, Oscars are overrated anyway.

What the heck. Did they even think they would get nominated in the oscars ROFL. It's a completely copy movie, there is no originality. The movie only worked because of ranbir and illeana's amazing and great performances, great chemistry between the lead pair ranbir and illeana, the great music and the beautiful locations.

kahaani was the best choice for Oscar this year nd it was overlooked

Barfi was a really good movie, even if the scenes had not been copied I highly doubt that it would have been shortlisted. The only Indian movies that Oscars will shortlist are either based on poverty or rich Indian culture. They (Oscars) seem to have stereotypes and they stick with it. A movie with universal appeal like Avatar even though doing excellent business get sidelined and a pretty unknown movie -The Hurt Locker walks away with top honours.

The movie worked because they created a hype of entering oscar when the movie released just a day after...I'm like So fast, they enter OScar😆😆 It was a good mission to get into that 100 crore club

it was surprising hw such a niche film did 100cr plus business
