Talaash Collects 80 Crore In Two Weeks

Friday 14th December 2012 10.30 IST

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Talaash collected 15.50 crore nett in week two to take its two week total to 80 crore nett. the film fell 76% in week two.

The film should hold better this week as it is an open week and the big multiplexes have the same number of shows as week two. The two best circuits for the film will be Mumbai where it will cross 32 crore nett and Mysore where it will cross 8 crore nett.

The film may get to 90 crore nett depending on what happens over the third weekend. As the film is a multiplex film the business on weekends is stronger than the film on weekdays.

If seem tuff job, coz 90 total is also speculation that this weekend it will run good in plexes, next 10 cr in dabangg 2 time is almost impossible.

Talaash wasn't as satisfying as it was expected, there are expectations becoz Aamir does not do many films, he works on rare subjects that makes him stand out. however, the film looked realistic from the promos and on the screen the supernatural element somehow spoiled the taste. had it been Arjun Rampal instead of Aamir, the film would have been dust.

BOX OFFICE: No 100 Crore For 'Talaash' Even After 12 Days

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's 'Talaash', directed by Reema Kagti, also featuring Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor has failed to garner the coveted Rs 100 crores at the domestic box office even after 12 days of being released.

'Talaash' hit screens on November 30. Even though this was no public holiday, the anticipation for the film was pretty high considering its an Aamir Khan starrer. Though the response to the 3 month pre-booking novel idea was lacklustre, the advance booking 4-5 days before the film's released looked strong. But things didn't quite turn out the way expected.

The opening day collection was fair to average. As we reported earlier, the first day business was of Rs 128 million (Rs 12.8 crore) net approximately. From there on, like an opened soda bottle loosing its fizz, it was all downhill. SEE REPORT

After ten days, 'Talaash' stood in the range of Rs 750 million (Rs 75 crore) net. The film showed drastic drops in most mass markets. Only high end multiplexes in metropolitan cities are supporting the collections.

Of course the ten day total does put the film in the higher bracket, but everybody expected the Aamir Khan starrer to have whizzed through the Rs 100 crore mark by now, effortlessly. Need we mention his previous '3 Idiots'?

The 11th and 12th day bring even worse news with collections of only Rs 14 million (Rs 1.40 crore) net and Rs 12.5 million (Rs 1.25 crore) net respectively.
