What intentions?

I always followed BOI figures!!!

ETT was called ATBB by Taran and Komal when it was only Blockbuster!!!
For Bodyguard they claimed it made 150cr. When in reality it was 148cr.

For SOS, ETT, JTHJ and Barfi, Taran and komal gave collections which were atleast 20 extra than BOI figures but for Rowdy Rathore, Agneepath and Housefull 2 it remained the same as BOI.

But I trust BOI coz they have been here for longer than these stupid Taran and Komal

@bold i hav the same doubt...Radhe told me that BOI cuts 10-20% of the actual figures depending on which lead actors movie it is

and about taran and komal...komal has a show where he directly interacts with the distributors about the collections

ya ETT had almost 17crs diff so as JTJH and barfi and sos i guess due not finding the exact numbers they assume or approxx the values as they go along it starts 2 increase from 2 to 5 to 10 to 20

Why BOI Figures are Lesser than Other Sites ?

Posted on December 8, 2012 | 11 Comments

Many People Have been constantly asking me about why the figures reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com is lesser than what most sites report.

Let me explain you why that happens.

Firstly, the Figures we and other sites report for the Multiplexes are same. If you notice for Multiplex Oriented films there isn't much difference in the figure we report and the others.

The Major Difference comes in the case of Single Screens. Single Screens charge a price for just running the movies. This is needed for the functioning of Single Screens and includes cost for things like Electricity, etc. This is not a Taxable Income, i.e this is counted as loss/investment and the Single Screens are not supposed to pay tax on this amount.

As a result of this we do not include this figure in the total Gross Collections. Because to arrive at net collections, we deduct tax from gross figure. So, it is unjust to include an amount in the gross collections which is not taxable.

Hence, the Net Figures we Report are lower than other sites and I feel this is a more genuine method. Because all Distributor shares are calculated on the basis of the net figures we report. And in the End it is the distributor share which matters.

Let me Give an Example.

We Reported JTHJ's total collections till now around 106 crore and the distributor share around 56 crore. This share is around 52-53% of the net figure and seems genuine.

Most Other sites reported the Collections of JTHJ around 125-130 crore and the distributor share, same as ours, 56 crore. This Figure is around 42-43% of the net figure and something is fishy about it. Such Low % of distributor share is only possible if the film has done significant business in 3rd or 4th Week which is not the case with JTHJ.

Look Taran & Komal declared all 4 last releases of Salman ATBB,

When clearly on 2 were.

Also yes, BOI will remain in history books as they have all the records from past.

Taran and Komal only have limited info. Who would remember their collections in coming years?

If you guys remember that Taran has archives section Bhungama site? Yes it's removed now coz all the figures were copied of BOI
