Most likely there won't be any other Superstar for the next few years. Atleast now BW has the 3 Khans but in the 80s there was no one once AB's fall started. There were actors like Anil, Jackie, Mithun, Govinda but none reached the superstar status.

A star not a superstar. Mags might have tried to create some hype but that must have been the most short-lived one. I never hear of any kind of mass hysteria that she could generate like say Rajesh Khanna, AB, SRK for example.

For the current superstars - Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. While only 2 of those became superstars after their debut films by giving the year's biggest hits. These lot of actors had their debut films in the top 10 highest grossing list. They'reimmortal. Emraan Hashmi will be the next to enter that field. Govinda, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff were also superstars at their time but have now slowed and barely make on screenappearanceand they are not currently in race for top position. But that doesn't take the tag of superstar away from them.

As for the new lot - Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Imran Khan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ranveer Singh, Abhay Deol and seeing the new Arjun Kapoor, I can say that barely any of them have made it that big to call themselves superstars.

Seeing their success rate, You can say they can all(most can) deliver hits. But ATBB seems to be a long path walk for them. Ranbir, Imran and Shahid slightly has the potential if their success rate is still alive in next 5 - 8 years. As for others - they might need to work on it or need more releases to proof the matter. No matter how these actors are popular online. The box opening does the real talk...

Salman, Aamir, SRK, Akshay & Ajay were the only bunch of actors who defeated their seniors to make their way into topping the Box Office in just first couple of years of their debuts.
