India slams Aishwarya for failing to lose weight - Page 8

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has gone through what most women go through when they deliver a child - put on few pounds. But the hue and cry surrounding her 'weighty' appearance since the birth of her daughter Aaradhya in November last year, has been increasing on online forums.

But many women in India are standing up for her. Says 25-year-old Shamili T, mother of a two-year-old, vociferously, "It takes time to work off post-pregnancy weight. And it's only been 6 months since she delivered, so I am sure she'll get back into shape with time."

Actress Lara Dutta, who has also delivered a baby, batted for Aishwaya stating to a reporter at a recent event, "You have no right to pass comments on women like Aishwarya, who have gone through a hard time during pregnancy. So, please refrain from getting judgmental!"

Meanwhile, Aishwarya's hubby Abhishek has been enjoying fatherhood status and even his wife's plumpy stature. But all men don't seem to adhere to the view that post-pregnancy weight is natural for any woman.

30-year-old Vikas Khanna vehemently says, "Aishwarya Rai is not any woman. She was a Miss World and she continues to be an idol for so many girls. How can she let herself go like this? She's not setting a great example, is she?"

Considering she's just going through a natural process, why all this fuss about a little weight gain we ask!
