Aishwarya Rai Condemned for Her Weight Gain!

May 17, 2012 ? By Raissa

Aishwarya Rai, hailed as one of the most beautiful woman in the world, is under grave scrutiny after being spotted inside a car with a double chin and very obvious weight gain. A lot of people are dissing her for not losing all the weight she gained during her pregnancy! Some even went to the extreme by saying that she's letting her country down by her appearance!

A video showing Aishwarya's appearance before and after giving birth is also circulating and have been viewed over 500,000 times! A lot of those who saw the video only have nasty things to say about the 38-year-old Bollywood star.

But there are also those who support Aishwarya despite her weight gain. They praise her for keeping the baby's priority before hers, and for keeping things real. Indeed, if she is nursing the baby, dieting won't be a good idea.

The last time we saw Aishwarya post-baby was last month in Dubai as she fulfilled her duty as the Ambassadress for Longines. But she wasn't as big as she looks in the most recent photo of her. I like Aishwarya very much and I feel bad for her with all these bad things being aimed at her. If she's finding it difficult to lose them then maybe it's time for professional help.

It's been six months since she gave birth, so do you think she should have lost the extra weight by now?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Criticized for Not Being Skinny Six Months After Giving Birth

  • Submit Share Email

If you haven't heard of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, let us fill you in by saying that she's basically the Angelina Jolie of Bollywood. Aishwarya has starred in a number of Bollywood films, but you may recognize her from The Pink Panther 2 or her Pepsi commercial. This Indian beauty, who was once called "the most beautiful woman in the world," by Julia Roberts, is now facing criticism from fans who believe she should have already lost the weight she gained while pregnant – six months ago.

In a video entitled Aishwarya Rai's Shocking Weight Gain, the actress and former Miss World is ridiculed for not having regained her figure after giving birth. The video features a soundtrack of elephant calls.

One comment on the video, from a user called TheBilliebobsmith, says, "That's bad, she got really fat. The husband should be out cheating on her now".

Another comment implores Aishwarya to, "learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery."

Reality check: just six months ago, Aishwarya grew another human being INSIDE HER BODY. So no, it's not reasonable to expect her to look exactly the same as she did pre-baby such a short time later.

In my opinion, it takes nine months for a woman to put the weight on – it should take at least nine to take it off. Not to mention the fact that pregnancy changes women's bodies in a way that makes it difficult for many to get all the way back down to their pre-baby weight. Oh, and the fact that mothers who can't afford or don't want to employ nannies don't exactly have the time to hit the gym six days a week. And that's okay.

Let's make a concerted effort to stop criticizing women and holding them to impractical standards after they've given birth (and in general). Deal? Deal.

As for Aishwarya, she's said that she simply wants to "enjoy motherhood." Amen.

photo of aishwarya rai double chin pictures fat photos
I know you probably thought I was joking with that headline, but sadly, I'm not. Seriously. Super-hot Bollywood actress and makeup brand ambassador (oh! and prize-winning beauty queen) Aishwarya Rai gave birth six or seven months ago to a darling little girl named Beti B, and when the above photo was released yesterday of what Aishwarya looks like now, fat comments flew like pig shit in the wind* (*I don't know what that means. Ask Miley).

Long called the Most Beautiful Woman in the World, Aishwarya is set to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, and skeptics aren't happy about her post-pregnancy weight retention. From SMH:

The criticism of Rai's post-pregnancy figure has been fierce.

"Aishwarya is like a goddess," said Showbusiness columnist Shobhaa De. "She is held up as the ideal of beauty and so there is an expectation on her to look perfect at all times."

One website posted a video, complete with elephant sound effects, entitled "Aishwarya Rai's shocking weight gain", which has been seen more than 500,000 times. "She is a Bollywood actress and it is her duty to look good and fit," suggested one commenter. Another added: "She needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery."

"There is a glorification of motherhood in India and Indian cinema," said cinema professor Shohini Ghosh. "But people are confused because they don't know whether to glorify Aishwarya in her new motherhood or lament that she is not looking like a runway model."
India has long grappled with the question of what beauty means but in an age of global media – Indians are familiar with western celebrities and how quickly some of them appear to regain their pre-baby bodies. "The role models being held up are Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham," said De. "But our body frames are different – we have wider hips and curves – so this whole business of looking desperately skinny two weeks after giving birth is a western import."

Well damn. I personally think she's beautiful, double chin or not. And this is really not all that different from what's going on with Bryce Dallas Howard. You (and by 'you', I mean people who are all judgey about post-baby figures and expect that all women should look like Gisele Bundchen or Victoria Beckham after they give birth even if said women weren't built like Gisele Bundchen and Victoria Beckham to begin with) see beautiful women day in and day out with lovely figures—thin, curvy, robust—but it's somehow different when a woman has a child and looks different than she did nine months before. Honestly, would you rather the person just gain forty pounds from doing nothing and being lazy and eating like crap than to look marginally different post-natal? Come on. Wake the f-ck up already.

i am sure reading more than 8 pages of this topic , she would really succumb to reduce her weight sooner than soon . i think her any family member would not have objection with her weight but these members giving their best in making comments on her extra weight.

Ash's Weight Issues? Let Her Be!

By Gayatri Patgaonkar posted May 17th 2012 at 5:48PM

Don't be surprised if you get to hear the words 'leave me alone' someday from the rooftop of Jalsa. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan surely is paying a heavy price to be one of the most beautiful women in the world and one of the top actors in Bollywood.

Lately I have been reading about all the flak and slamming that she has been receiving on her post baby weight. Critics are attacking her weighty issues left, right and centre and have even compared her to the likes of Victoria Beckhams and Angelina Jolies who have bounced back to shape post pregnancy. If I'm not mistaken, these were the same critics who wrote about Ash being unable to conceive for reasons best known to them and were thrashed by Big B calling it 'lowest quality of journalism'.

I feel it's time to let her BE. She has been surrounded and hounded just too many times at regular intervals in her life for being a celeb. This is HER moment. Motherhood is a blissful emotion, something that cannot be described in words. A mother shares the most beautiful and strong bond with her child. It makes her the happiest person on earth. She is in this happy space. Therefore focussing on and discussing the weight gain that comes with the package on a public platform is frivolous and irresponsible. Thankfully, she's not one of those vanity struck stars who get wheeled into plastic surgery and liposuction rooms straight from the labour room.

I'm happy that she isn't hiding or hibernating but facing the world with pride, dignity and class.

She has decided to nurse, nurture and invest her time in bringing up the baby than spend hours at the gym trying to look her skinniest best.

And just like the mother, the baby is worth it!
