I think people are trying too hard to find flaws in this interview. When I first saw the title of this topic, I was like, "Oh God, Kareena, not with your cockiness again!" But when I watched it... it was nothing. When she did say the line about the Khans chasing her, she was joking and laughing. I was waiting to be pissed off, but there was nothing. She didn't say it arrogantly at all, nor did she brag about it, she just made a joke and laughed it off. If it was another actress, I doubt her little comment would be this exaggerated. 😆

About the underpaid comment, I don't see what's so arrogant about it. She said, "Compared to Aamir and Salman, I am underpaid." She didn't say that she thinks she should be paid as much, so what's so arrogant about that? The way I interpreted it that there's a vast difference between the salaries of the males and the females in the industry - which is true. She is a superstar too, yet her salary comes nowhere close. If you're coming to seniority in the industry - the males still get paid more if they're junior. And the way I interpreted it is that when Salman was at the stage in his career where Kareena is atm - he would still get paid more, while comparatively females like Kareena are still behind.

And why should it be based on seniority? In a business, people are ranked (managers, directors, VP, Pres, etc), and based on their rank they get paid. A person can be working as a manager for 40 years, and the VP could be working for only 20, yet the VP would still get paid more. Why? Because of their work, their duties. If you see each individual movie as a business, I agree Salman should have been paid high for Bodyguard because he was the main character, and he led the way, sure. But you see films like Fashion, Kahaani, The Dirty Picture, 7 Khoon Maaf, and even Kareena's upcoming Heroine - where females are in charge of the movie, acting as the leads, acting as the "VP" or "President" yet they get paid poorly compared to Salman, SRK, Aamir. Why aren't they paid a huge sum of amount to do the film and attract the audience? If an older day actress decides to do a movie now, do you think she'll be paid as much as the Khans even though she's been in the industry much longer than them? No. Actors, male or female, should be paid for their work, not how long they have been in the industry.

I understand the Khans get paid a lot due to their huge fan following, but people are crazy for Kareena, Katrina, PC and Vidya too. I agree, Salman's popularity made his recent movies hits, and if another actor was chosen instead, they might not have done as well. But the same can be said about Kahaani - people are going to see the movie to see Vidya shine again, but why doesn't she get paid as much? I don't think what Kareena said was false at all.

I think her little comment about how women don't get paid as much as men got misinterpreted it as "I want to paid as much as them" to be quite honest. If people think Kareena should shut up because she should get "used to" what's happening in the industry, I ask WHY? What's wrong with saying your opinion about what's going on in the industry? She said the bloody truth. I don't think women should just shut up if they feel oppressed. What the eff.

I do like Kareena's acting, but I was never a big fan of her interviews, but I saw nothing wrong in this one, oops.

Heroines hardly have any pivotal roles in films, so maybe that is why they are paid less? Also experience counts..its ridiculous for Kareena to get the same amount as aamir or SRK, esp. for movies like 3 idiots or bodyguard. Ok, if its films like Fashion or Kahaani, then I agree that they need to be paid a good amount!

And also, Salman is a hard worker? In what way? If Bebo was shitty in Bodygaurd (which i will not deny, she was), Salman was equally idiotic. What did he bring to the table that demanded a higher sum than kareena? You cite the Khans starpower and charm as reason to give them higher wages, does that mean if kareena is paired in a film with a lesser actor/actress in terms of marketability and star power, and they both are leads, should she be paid far more?

Salman did all the action in Bodyguard..which was a lot..it was his character that made the movie a blockbuster! chalo forget Salman..Srk also did a lot in Ra.one...what did Kareena do??
