When he (or Sanjay Dutt) were arrested lot of money was riding on him. He HAD to be saved unlike Shiney who had only one film. So everyone from politicians to underworld got together to save him. But what took a beating was his image. So he was sold as his big little boy with a heart of gold helping out newbies and yaaron ka yaar types whose girl left him. That retained his fan following but he really never got as much success as Aamir or SRK. Thats only come since Wanted when he managed to beat them.

it's always so funny how SRK's long list of flops in the 2000s are either ignored or simply forgotten, and he's being called the best thing to Indian Cinema since God knows who.

Yet he's had dozens of flops to his credit, not just at the beginning of his career, but in the last decade as well.

Yea I think Deepika's value has gone down since she debuted. In 2007, she really was touted as the next big superstar but she's not making any news these days. Turned out to be a phuski 😆

Agreed 100 % -- so glad that Jimmy is doing well and getting appreciated. I used to not watch some of his earlier films because it was annoying that he would lose out, when he should've obviously gotten the girl. MYKSH is the biggest example of this. The songs were enough for me, and I was just... they couldn't even retain the original ending...figures.

Surprise of Surprises Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgan in the early 90's . Never imagined they would have such successful careers ever.

Saif Ali Khan the most effeminate of actors in his early years. No expectations whatsoever from him. He looked like a female Sharmila then. And look what happened after Dil Chahata Hai.

Ajay Devgan looks wise below average, Dark and extremely scrawny. And look at him today.
One of the most solid versatile and actually looked pretty decent in HDDCS.
God has been really kind to AD.

Mohnish Behl , one of the most good looking actors of Bollywood industry had the best looks which unfortunately did nothing for him. If it was not for Rajshri this guy would have just disappeared.

Sonam and Ranbir debuted together. Look at Ranbir today one of the best star kids to hit Bollywood.

Sonam is unfortunately no where in spite of being a STAR KID. Her contemporaries Anushka, Deepika are doing much better than her.
Will Bollywood be as generous with her as they have been with Abhishek B.

Another actor I can't take seriously is Ritesh Deshmukh. I always feel he is just here to do some TIME PASS.

And last but not the least..the most under rated actor ABHAY DEOL. I think Abhay is the best of the DEOL. Bobby becomes invisible in comparison.

yes, things change and HOW!!!!

the most recent and continuing example would be PC. when she was doing Krish, Dostana and Fashion, she was the next best thing. this girl with no godfather made it to the top and won the National Award. Kareena-PC war was the hottest topic and people more often took PC's side...

Now, off late, she isnt even in the league of top 3: which is Kareena, Katrina and Vidya... also, she is never the first choice for any commercial flicks. Salman makes movies with Tacky Takia, but doesnt consider PC. After Don 2 released and award season is over, srk doesnt look at her twice!!!

so, yes things change and how!
