Why Vidya and not Kangana Ranaut?

I am going to skip the introduction as I think most of you have read her topic about how and why Vidya managed to climb the ladder but not Tabu. Most of the answers (including mine) revolved around that audiences tastes have changed considerably in the past few years.
But then I sat back and thought - why has Kangana Ranaut not come anywhere close to the height Vidya reached? Both of them debuted more-or-less at the same time.

I find her pretty enough - at least prettier than Sonam or Deepika. She's got talent, and even though she got typecast in the psycho roles, there's no denying that she does them extremely well. She showed potential from her very first film - Gangster (her best performance probably), and followed it up well with Woh Lamhe, Life in a Metro and Fashion. She also had commercial success with Raaz, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, and Kites was one of the most hyped-up movie of 2010. And yet the buzz around her is almost nonexistent.
She is doing alright with critics, but the repeated psycho roles combined with no great movies in recent times makes her loose focus amongst them. Sure she received a National Award sometimes back - but let's face it: the buzz was all around Priyanka then.

So what did Vidya do that she couldn't? Is it because she got typecast in the psycho roles and hardly ventured to do anything outside of that? Or is it because she lacks connection, family name, and hardly worked with A-grade stars and big banners?

First things first , Vidya is a better actor than Kangna. Secondly i saw her acting in Rascals n her "Bhaggu ji " ( horror horror !) was enf for me to conclude that she is better off in Psycho roles . Kangna keep on saying bas***d custard whtever u like but no no no dnt try comedy again ! Even in Tannu weds Mannu i found her pretty annoying.


I dnt think she is a versatile actor , nor is Vidya , but at least Vidya's acting has never seemed cringe-worthy to me in any of her movies . She needs a voice-modulation course asap n yep she lacks script sense, her love with plastic surgeries ( yh Kangna u can still call it weight gain) has somewhat distracted her frm her acting agenda( Or so i think) n she doesn't look pretty to me anymore .

Vidya is fantastic at delivering dialogues while Kagana just have a squeaky voice she's still a good actress but Vids is much better than her. I thought Kangana was pretty but not anymore to say the least, Vidya is very beautiful imo but all she need is a good stylish. she's too cute for those crappy outfit.

Once Kangana moved out of the Bhatt camp she made all the wrong choices in films in an attempt to move away from her psycho woman image. Right now she is saddled with a Celina Jeitley like desperate wannabe image inspite of a Tanu Wed Manu.

I really liked kangana in fashion, gangster, woh lamhe, raaz,etc. She is definitely more talented the Deepika & Soonam. As someone said she requires some voice modulation course.

Vidya is extremely over-rated and Kangana under-rated.

She's had some great performances but she screwed it up by doing bit roles in multi-starrer disasters like No problem, Double Dhamaal, Rascals. If you keep doing those roles thats what you get type-cast as. Now she has Tezz coming up. Another bit role and Krishh 3 as the second lead. She's made a lot of wrong choices in an effort to impress Salman and co and that has cost her.

Hopefully she makes better choices in the future.

I find Vidya quite overrated. She really doesn't have much competition..her films tend to work when her fellow actresses are too busy doing not so serious, commercial roles.

I really likeD Kangana when she was typecasted in the psycho roles. Her portrayal in Gangster is still one of my all time favourites. She screwed up BIG time by signing up for crap like No Problem, Rascals, Game and all the other commercial junk she attempted this past year. I rather she be typecasted in pyscho roles (something I think she excelled in) rather than do crappy roles. She's a talented actress and I hope one day she'll be able to find her groove in the industry.

Kangana ranaut has a national award, Vidya doesn't! Kangana is trying to do roles which are out of her comfort zone.. like Tanu weds manu and others.. but Vidya is stuck with the same image. Kangana has a better fashion sense than Vidya. Vidya is the flavour of the season right now... she would have to sooner or later reinvent herself.. or she will be forgotten soon. Kangana has some commercial movies that are coming up but nothing intersting. She should sign a good movie. Whereas, Vidya is still doing the same kinda movies and hasn't signed any commerical biggie.
