And... I knew all this was coming.

Can we just leave the judging to God, or keep it to ourselves... or at least out of the forum. Please.

There are many, especially celebs, that observe various religious traditions and practices. Even if they not be of that background.

So it's certainly not that weird for Salman...even if his mother weren't a Hindu, to be observing a Hindu ritual.

Let them decide what they want to be called and what they are. It's certainly not up to any of us to say if one is or isn't this or that.

But this topic is about a religious practice, why should I have to keep religion out of it? Then let's not post a thread about it if it's such a sensitive matter to be discussed.

I just said my opinion, and I criticized an actor, a public figure, not anyone on this forum.

People are so scared about sensitive issues. Someone asked a question and I answered based on my worldview and opinions. And now everyone gangs up and says to keep religion out of it. Then delete this thread please.

What was the point of this thread then? Wasn't it to comment on his personal, spiritual/religious life? What nonsense. It's become fashionable to be spiritual and to be everything and not anything. And yet we can't take an opinion or a criticism.

^^ I wasn't in favour of that question being asked in the first place, as can be seen by my post immediately afterwards. And my last response is actually directed to that initial question as well.

If you want to go into religious discussions, that's fine with me. I can discuss plenty and argue plenty. And I'm not saying this in bitchy or testy way. But not everyone will be able to handle the criticisms or opinions.

None of us have the right to declare someone a non-Muslim or non-Christian or non-Jain or whatever. Let him follow his beliefs (whatever they may be) however he wants to. It's between him and God (assuming He exists). Hum beech mein kyun interfere karey?

Religion is a very very personal issue and unless a person is claiming to be an official representative of the religion, then really it's none of our business to judge a person's religiosity.

Burcidi, my comment was not projected toward you. Read all 4 pages you'll find you were not alone who talked about his religious preference. No one is ganging up against you. I can assure you, at least I was not the part of the gang 😊

Well Burcidi is right, according to Islam, Salman would be classed as an unbeliever, this is not my opinion or anyone elses, this is what the Islamic doctrine says, at best he is a nominal Muslim, however, he can choose to consider himself as whatever he wants.

but how can people determine if a person is a non-believer? All I know is that Judgment Day isnt here yet and I know for sure that God didnt hire any person to be his personal assistant in helping him judge people.

and Shashi, I didnt direct this comment at you. This is the line I always say when people preach to me.I just go like "Oh I didnt know Judgment Day was here already! Also didnt know God hired you to be his personal assistant. How much is he paying you?" 😆

It's better to say that culturally, one side of his family has a Muslim background. But he is not Muslim as far as I can see.

And what did he fast on, scotch ya vodka?

I agree with your techincal viewpoints...that he's not a Muslim coz he doesn't follow the Islamic way. That sleeping around bit applies too? Not being rude, I swear...but even most men in Islamic countries don't follow that, I'm 100% sure. 😊
@bold...it's a religious fast. A tough one at that. Yes bhaang, an intoxicant, is consumed but that is considered the drink of Shiva. Would you like it if the same question was asked by someone abt Ramadan or any other Muslim religious festival?
