From Bollywood movies can't think of anything that's positive. I haven't seen MNIK so can't comment there. If you can use a Punjabi movie then Yarian which has Gurdas Mann and Bhumika Chawla in it is a good movie where one of the supporting actors is black and is shown is a good, positive role.

I am working on my thesis on the subject: "othering in India". Thats why i am interested in the representation of Black people in Bollywood. Thus I thought I could ask You guys about the movies. And it is fantastic to get the answers. Thank you, my lovely people.

The thing is i dont understand Punjabi. That was quite a task to learn Hindi :) But anyway, thank you!

I was going to mention MNIK too...just depicts black people begging to the one Indian guy for help. You could probably mention how the Indian director has a disconnect with real black Americans🥱

Yeah it is an exciting topic but quite difficult to fetch the info esp. not being in India for a moment. But slowly slowly i hope ill be able to move on.

Does anyone remember any racist ad in India?
