Raj Kanwar
Producer-director Raj Kanwar passed away in Singapore today (3rd February 2012) following a kidney ailment. He had gone to Singapore for a kidney transplant operation but he died before the surgery. His body is being flown to Indian for the last rites. He was in his early fifties.
Raj Kanwar had directed a number of films including hits like Deewana, Andaaz, Judaai, Jeet, Badal, Daag – The Fire, Jaan and Laadla. The other films he directed were Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Kartavya, Ithihaas, Farz, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Ab Ke Baras, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and Sadiyaan.
He had not been keeping good health since a couple of years and was mainly confined to his bed for a long time. His elder brother, K. Pappu, had also died some years back due to ill-health. Like Raj Kanwar, K. Pappu was also not very old.
