And SRK isn't someone who would refuse to use whatever advantage he had to pursue his career ambitions.
Sure KJo isn't exactly a paragon of honesty and steadfast loyalty but then SRK
would sell himself to the highest bidder, and when KJo's films were working for him and KJo's admiration kept him in blockbusters he played along with whatever KJo, the cash cow, wanted.
SRK's heart was NEVER into it with the same intensity as KJo's was. KJo would have come out publicly as SRK's second wife but SRK wouldn't have heard of it. He's a very cagey man and not one to risk it all for a love that is largely based (at least from HIS side) on just how much career mileage he can get out of the partner.
Considering all the negativity surrounding the SRK/PC rumors it's not surprising he's pulled back the reins on that too.
Dude dismantled his public image with a seemingly intentional thoroughness in 2011 what with the PC debacle, the overdose of PR for the thuddingly 3rd rate Ra.One---which served more than anything else to make the public sick of him and resentful of his film before it even released---Gauri's drugged appearance when she can be bothered to appear at all, and the blatant displeasure of Aryan at the whole dog and pony show that is "dad" have each added to the dimming of SRK's public lustre.
So I don't blame KJo entirely for dumping SRK.
In any relationship where one loves too much and the other is only there for what he can get sooner or later the used will have to move on from the user.
The fact that KJo is still friends with Gauri has significance here, I think.
The thing to watch over the coming year is whether SRK tries to re-ingratiate himself with KJo and the old gang or whether he continues to chase around with PC and try to cultivate Lady Gaga---whose cringingly pointless interview with SRK was one of his low points of 2011.
