I hope this movie works for Ranveer. He has great onscreen charisma and is a breath of fresh air amongst all the staleness on the big screen right now. Sounds like Parineeti Chopra is the suprise package of the film. Good for her.

December 08, 2011, (Sawf News) - Anushka Sharma looked a vision in a blush Rachel Gilbert sequined strapless gown at the premiere of Ladies vs Ricky Bahl at the Dubai International Film Festival, Madinat Jumeriah Complex on December 8.

The 23-year-old wore the Australian designer's stunning Isadora Gown from AW12 collection featuring a structured bodice with a sweetheart neckline. The upper half of the gown was embellished with bursts of silver sequins and the floor sweeping voluminous skirt was made of layered tulle.

Never seen a sequined gown look this good with a leather belt but Anushka did pull it off well. She wore a slim blush leather belt with a metallic buckle to accentuate her slim waist.

She accessorized with peeptoe platforms and sparkling rose earrings from her personal collection.

Her hair was styled swept up and away from face with shoulder draping voluminous waves.

Her spectacular makeup by the MAC team lived up to the grandeur of the occasion. Radiant red matt lipstick and adrenaline rush like red blush ensured no clash of colors. Thick liquid eyeliner, speckled silver eyeshadow and clumped mascara popped out her beautiful eyes.

Anushka walked the red carpet with co-star Ranveer Singh dressed in all black - suit with velvet accents on the front and sleeves, silk shirt, slim silk tie and glossy shoes. His glistening side parted hair made for a softer look than the swept back hair at the noon press conference.

Anushka and Ranveer spent a lot of time signing autographs and posing for pictures with their fans, a large number of whom were females, some of whom couldn't keep their hands off Ranveer!

Sometimes, Adams can get groped too, but they don't seem to mind!

Maneesh Sharma directed YRF production Ladies vs Ricky Bahl additionally stars Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Sharma and Dipannita Sharma. It bows in theaters worldwide Friday, December 9.

Review: Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl
Piyali Dasgupta, Editorial Head -Entertainment and Movies, NDTV Convergence
Friday, December 09, 2011
Print | A+ A-
Cast: Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Dipannita Sharma, Parineeti Chopra
Director: Maneesh Sharma
Producer: Aditya Chopra

I started off the quick review by saying that Ranveer as Ricky Bahl would want to do a "Kola-VerU" - smash a few boundaries and bowl the maidens over.

Exactly an hour into the movie, it looked like he was nearly there. As abs-flashing, smooth-talking con-man Ricky Bahl, the ladies can't resist him. As Parineeti Chopra's Dimple Chaddha, says, 'Yeh handsome lagna kab band karega?'

Never really, because the Band Baaja Baaraat team and director Maneesh Sharma wants to revive Ranveer's crazy energy. So they give him plenty of moments to show off his perfectly-toned abs (well-oiled and in Goa for good measure) as the ladies he has recently conned – Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma and Aditi Sharma – stake him out for revenge.

Then the predictable story line hits, with Anushka Sharma thrown in woman who can counter Ricky with a con of her own.

By now you may have guessed, how the film is likely to end, but I'll tell you why you should still watch it.

Parineeti Chopra scores as brash nouveau riche Delhi girl Dimple Chaddha. The endearing dialogues are all here (like the film begins with her trying to adjust a choli to show cleavage-shevage).

Dipannita Sharma as Raina Parulekar and Aditi Sharma as Saira Rashid are believable.

Anushka Sharma as the ambitious salesgirl Ishika Desai is believable but not endearing – you would like her black bikini scene.

Ranveer Singh walks away the hero from the film. Super energy and after Parineeti, good dialogues which make him not a seminal con-man by any standards, but an enjoyable one.

The whistles were all for him and Parineeti.

The film loses out on the great chemistry we saw between him and Anushka in Band Baaja Baaraat, especially towards the end.

I'll go with 2.5 stars for Ladies vs Ricky Bahl - 1 Ranveer, 1 for Parineeti for her debut film and .5 for the entertainment, especially in the first half.

Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl Review

He's a conman who fleeces in style. His victims are young girls and he uses his good looks, ready wit and inborn charm, to first lure his 'victims' to a point of surrender and then flee with the loot. Usually, he involves the 'victims' families as well to gain that trust. But he knows where to draw the line; he never mixes business with pleasure.

Welcome Sunny, Diego, Malhotra... the various aliases of Ranveer Kapoor. He has successfully conned 30 PYTs. The 31st 'victim' proves to be a little tricky. The con is now on him? Will he fail? Or will he, as usual, walk away with another fat booty?

CHECK OUT: Anushka- Ranveer used to do yoga before every shot

Fairytale stuff but presented well. Well enough to be kept entertained for a major part of the film. All five characters blend well to make this a watchable fare. Apart from Ranvir, there's Parineeti Chopra (feisty performance), who plays Dimple, a Delhi lass very much in love with Ricky. There's also Aditi Sharma who plays Saira, another who has been successfully conned. After Rajjo in MAUSAM, she pitches in with another controlled performance. Dipannita Sharma as Raina has been conned for the largest sum; being sold a fake Husain, while Anushka Sharma is roped in by these girls to exact revenge from the Conman.

Ishika (Anushka) is a salesgirl who can sell a comb to a bald man. She becomes the ideal choice to help these three girls (from Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow) who come together to turn tables on Ricky.

Ranvir is a confident lad. After BAND BAAJA BAARAAT, he continues to impress. Style, acting, screen presence, he has it all. Also, he gives his all to the role. A star of the future. Anushka, too pitches in with a spontaneous performance.

CHECK OUT: Ranveer- Anushka belongs to my inner circle

The choreography of the songs may be good, but the jerky camera movements are a strain on the eye. You prefer to close your eyes and listen to the song rather than view the dance steps. A research needs to be done by YRF on how to present well-choreographed songs to the viewers.

What makes the film go down a steep slope after moving to a solid high is the stupid showing of how these girls manage to sell fake Gucci's and Prada's to Ricky. He is shown as a man who knows his stuff. So why this laziness in the script?

This movie will find its audience with the teenagers.
