I hope Kareena realizes that the skin show in TDP is not the only reason which is the reason why the movie is doing well critically and commercially. Blah blah sex sells blah blah...but I think, only to a certain extent.
Anyway, I have little to no doubts that Kareena will do well in Heroine. I've seen her in Omkara, Chameli, Kurbaan, JWM, Kurbaan, and 3 Idiots to know what she's capable of. Even if she won't be able to deliver THE best performance of her career, I'm pretty sure she won't be anything less than average or above average. It's actually Madhur's (pretentious?) script I'm worried about.
Regarding taking inspiration (or whatever the article is calling it) from Vidya's performance...no harm in that. There's always some scope for improvement.
