Actor-producer Amitabh Dayal, who last played the role of ace encounter specialist, Daya Nayak in KAGAAR, is busy gearing up for KAGAAR-2, the sequel to the earlier film. The film which is being produced by his company Mad's Media Entertainment and directed by Dr Mrinalini, (who last produced KAGAAR) has generated a great deal of curiosity with Daya Nayak hitting the headlines in the recent past. The general impression is that Dayal is trying to make the best out of the ongoing controversy surrounding Daya Nayak but Dayal denies that he decided to make the sequel after the recent course of events. "The truth is that the sequel to KAGAAR was planned way back, after the release of the film. Besides we have our own perception of how we'd like to project the character since it is merely inspired from Nayak's character. Tomorrow if the controversy about him dies down, it doesn't mean we'll abandon the idea of going ahead with the sequel," Dayal reveals.
What intrigued most people though are the sequences depicting the raids and the suspension of Nayak in KAGAAR, which bear a striking resemblance to the developments which transpired in the recent past. "Some people thought that we had actually prophesied what was going to happen but it is sheer coincidence. We had our own conjecture about how the story would progress and it is a sheer coincidence that they bear a striking resemblance to the film," Dayal reveals. .
He refused to divulge whether the new film will project the character in an altogether new light but admits that he is all excited about playing the character in the sequel. "It is a challenge to play a character with diverse shades to it. We are currently giving the final touches to the script. As a matter of fact no character is completely positive or negative. We all have our plus and minus points. It is when one overtakes the other that you find yourself on either side of the fence," he says.
Dayal feels that it is the media which made Nayak the hero and later the anti-hero. 'They put him on a pedestal at one point of time and dropped him just as quickly. Sometimes fame and success also bring with it a lot of complications," he says.
