'R.A. One' — 4 stars
The creations of a video-game designer enter the real world With Shahrukh Khan. (2:36). NR. At Village 7, Empire 25, BIG Cinemas Manhattan. In Hindi with English subtitles.
This wildly entertaining Bollywood action-comedy, with Indian superstar Shahrukh Khan in two roles, pays homage to such '90s flicks as "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "The Matrix," adding whimsy and loads of heart. As a video-game designer who, per his son's wishes, creates an unbeatable digital villain, Kahn is endearingly dopey, like a dancing Adam Sandler. When the baddie - R.A. One, for "Random Access One" — enters the real world, Khan then plays the sleek, robot-like G.One (or "Good One"), a heroic avatar brought to life to defeat the evildoer.
The movie has a witty sense of punky, gaming-style esthetics that American blockbusters try for but can't quite achieve. The musical numbers, of course, make you feel great — and not just because of the snappy tunes and colorful costumes. It's also because of how sweet their celebration of celebrity feels; Khan and co-star Kareena Kapoor are adored by the camera and their fans, and seem to give adoration right back.
"R.A.One," already the biggest presold movie in the history of Indian cinema, may be filled with genre riffs, but there's nothing robotic about it.
'All's Faire in Love' — 1 star
Renaissance fair-set comedy. With Christian Ricci. (1:44). PG-13: Sexuality. At UA East, Union Square 14, Regal E-Walk.
Finding a fresh setting for a comedy is difficult, but a Renaissance fair is too broad a target. This low-budget loser plunks a bozo college boy (dull Owen Benjamin) into a medieval chainmail-and-jousting weekend to earn a grade from an English professor (Cedric the Entertainer). There, he meets newly single Kate (Christina Ricci), a wacky rebel (Matthew Lillard) and a haughty faux queen (Ann-Margret).
Dusty "Shakespeare in Love" spoofs and dumb jokes abound. Ricci must be feeling cursed: With "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," the bleak outlook for TV's "Pan-Am" and now this, it's like being dunked in Hollywood's version of Drench-a-Wench.
'Janie Jones' — 2 stars
A musician meets the daughter he never knew. With Abigail Breslin. (1:47). NR: Language. At the Village East.
Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine") tries to add soul to this drab music melodrama about a self-absorbed, emo rocker (Alessandro Nivola) learning to connect with his 13-year-old kid, a stranger to him when she's dumped in his care by a former groupie girlfriend (Elisabeth Shue) trying to kick drugs.
Breslin knows which notes to hit, and does wryly plaintive better than actresses twice her age, and Nivola remains an untapped presence (he's great at playing jerks). But writer-director David M. Rosenthal fills this dewy road-trip movie with too many cliches. From the glimpses we get of Shue's character, that may have been a more rockin' story.

sorry for off topic but media has gone nuts😆
it is because of them there is so much issue between Salman and SRK🤓
they are hell bent on trying to find out who is bigger star 😆 all the guest in panel are saying you can't rank them as no.1 or 2 because both are superstar but NO they have to go on and on about it🤪
Friday update: 'Ra.One' holds well, despite Bhau-Beej celebrations
