Crystal, there are at least 170 mils Muslims in India, and even internationally if you think of it, the movie will get affected because of Ramadan, and the fact that audiences will be restricted...Indians, Pakistanis, Bengalis...etc, and many more. People will catch up on the movie, but not at the moment it releases, and that's got to hurt it. The thing is Aarakshan can't really afford to release any other time except now. From Eid onwards there's a LOT of biggies coming out. First there's Bodyguard, then MBKD, Mausam, then in October there's Ra.One on Diwali and no one wants a repeat of Saawariya vs. OSO again..this continues on until January next year. Safest time: now because it has a free 3 weeks or so and if good, word of mouth will help it even if it will lose a lot of business because of Ramadan.

For whatever reason...most pepole are quite postive about the film..Average at worst is the general opinion..even with lousy promotions.

I am curious why trade calls it a biggie..what is big?..film was shot in Bhopal with no superstars.

The target is small towns..a multiplex films/single screen films..films released during cricket..2 films releasing together..all find audience..

Like I posted earlier..Lafangey Parindey releasing during ramadan(according to faridoon-muslim friendly).did fair business according to BOI..I doubt it would have done better at any other time..
