I enjoyed the "Dance Maare" song because of its wackiness. 😃 And also Dil Haara.

I never saw the movie though. 😆 (But I do want to watch it).

I guess this blog is biased. Because I abs disliked Tashan. and I guess so did others, that's why it flopped despite having big actors, and yashraj banner. It could have been just awesome if it had a strong concrete story.
I had Huge huge expectations from it. The size zero and all, that was nonsense. It didn't translate into hit status. There was NO interesting story in it. All of the actors were wasted, such potential man!! the only thing good was the song Chaliya. I love that song😆

How can a blog be biased? Its a BLOG!
Its the girl's opinion.

The point of the blog is WHY she thinks it went wrong. If people actually read it, she's nto defending the film, but analyzing why it didnt connect with audiences, but also why she liked it.
Good god.

what i noticed on wiki:

The indian critics, with the exception of raja sen who gave it a 3/5, panned this film...but it recieved better reviews from the international media.

U.S. critics were favorable. Rachel Saltz of The New York Times wrote, "The giddy camera work and busy visual effects would be exhausting if their excess didn't fit so well with the movie's tongue-in-cheek tone".[29] Frank Lovece of Film Journal International found it "crowded with dizzying visuals, dry humor, cartoonishy violent set-pieces that play like Indian spaghetti Westerns, and gorgeously shot musical numbers.[30] Maitland McDonagh of TV Guide described the film as "a delirious crime romp [that] borrows pop-savvy attitude from Quentin Tarantino, stylized gun play from Sergio Leone and stylized hand-to-hand combat moves from Hong Kong action films. The result is a nutty, ridiculously entertaining neo-noir pastiche with lavish musical numbers."[31]

I guess filmigirl is right...it appeals only to people who like OTT masala AND also relate to the tarantino-eque pop culture filmmaking/screenplay style.

Good god?
All I said was that this blog seems biased, that she was in the minority of people who watched Tashan. And I didn't go to her blog, look her up to see what this girl's views were. They were posted in this forum and I wanted to see how it would be justified.

And I read it, the whole thing. She seems to love the actors, and how the director Victor wanted to reach the audience of Johny mera naam and wanted to get away from Hum Tum. And THEN he said its all about implausible plots and garish costumes, which is not what Johny mera naam was about all. That movie had a good story.

And according to me, Victor fell miserably in what he tried to do.
And that was my biased opinion.
