That's sad for Preity...I actually miss a lot of her films

I really do hope that she can have a career in BW even if its just as a side character...I'd really like to see her face in films again, botox and all

But the reason that Preity and Aish (not sure if hers is over) careers are over esp Preity is because of their age and plus new actress took over. People get tired of seeing the same faces in every film. That's why maduri, rani, preity, karishma...careers all died out..they were in every film.

Kareena and PC and kat and others will also disappear one day. Esp they are the only ones in top movies these days. People are going to be bored of them in no time. IF not already lol

While I do agree and see a lot of truth in what you've written I'd have to chip in that it is the actresses who face the same fate. The actors in bollywood are immune to it. I honestly think that a lot of the actresses are made to be ornaments and therefore when their anestetical value decreases (ie. aging), they are not wanted. If the masses felt a connection with the actresses, I don't think this would have happened. 30s and 40s isn't even that old, it's really sad that there's not as many female representation in the movie industry for us girls. Women are depicted as what men see them.

I know it's pretty sad that the only reason actress are in films is because of their beauty. Has there been any bollywood actress who was at the top of her game at her mid 30s/40s? The only one I can think of is Aish. But her career hasn't been going great lately either.

^ Ash got where she got partly due to her unatural exotic beauty. She stood out (in a good way) But again it is because of her extraordinary looks although her acting is decent.This is just another example of the criteria it takes to make it to Bollywood as a female. Even at her prime I could never connect with her. Many of the actresses today should have been just models. I'm not saying this as an insult or trying to demean them. Look at Giselse, look at Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima. They have made a sucess out of their modelling careers. Nowadays I only see ex-models turned bollywood actress which gives such unrealistic expectations of the ideal female to movie-goer audience. I understand glamour but does it always have to be in the form of having the sexiest women? Why can't real women with all her quirks and personable personality be shown at least once in a blue moon?

Actresses like Rani and Preity made hay when Aishwarya was blacklisted form Bollywood and she made an unsuccessful bid in Hollywood.

She came back with a bang in the item number Kajra re..and YRF who threw her out from Veer Zaara gave her ,her comeback vehicle DHOOM 2.

While the other 2 faded away..Aishwarya continued to flourish with the best projects even after her marriage..

And to date, is unarguably the second most popular actress after Katrina Kaif!

I don't care what this Masand says, but I love Preity...I don't like what she did with her face coz she was such a natural beauty but it doesn't make her a bad person or anything! She was amazing and is amazing!! I wish her all the best for her comeback!!

P.S this is the first time I am reading/hearing that Preity made her career by backstabbing people...I don't understand why do people make such things or believe such things just coz they don't like someone!! Why can't people for once come out of their bias or hatred or whatever you wanna call and appreciate someone's works or at least give credit to him/her and his/her talents!! Preity is one of the very few Bollywood actresses who have been praised for her offscreen persona and honesty by the most popular/most established actresses + the newcomers!

Aamir does botox and did some other stuff to get rid of his wrinkles but noone dares to say anything. Masand I dare you to talk about Aamir's work on his face :P

As for why people don't want to work with her...it depends on someone believing in you...Rani got chances because people believe in her ability or has friends who are willing to give her a chance...Preity probably has no one like that and she wasn't really considered a good actress like Rani.
