Why is Kareena left out in the cold?

anyways kareena was good in JWM...but having said this, it was also evident in many parts tht she overracted a lot...it was the magic of imitiaz ali tht he fade it away otherwise it would have come out very very weird. Priyanka deserved it becoz the movie fashion shakes u within...of course the people watching the movie having intention of making fun of PC will never agree to me...and i care a damn abt it...personally fashion was a very good movie...and i loved priyanka;s role especially when she comes back to mumbai after her suffering...her quest of getting kangana to get stable...really moves ur heart...loved the scene when kangana asked priyanka to do the fashion show...

and the CLIMAX shakes u within...when priyanka walks on the ramp and she shatters after the event gets successful...wow what emotions !!! i was touched...how can anyone not like it...of course she got the national award becoz the jury felt the same way...

Its not like tht kareena can't get it...even shahrukh didn't get it for best actor...so it doesn't matter...karreena should not lose hope and should deliver a earth shattering performance in a movie then she can get it...

In my eyes Priyanka didn't do any pathbreaking acting in Fashion. She was good I agree but for me Kareena's acting in JWM was also equally good.

I agree those two films are very different in theme but if you just take how well the actors played each character then I don't see Priyanka doing some extraordinary acting.

And since you mentioned at the climax when Priyanks comes of know of Kangana death and her reaction looks like "acting" to me. I couldn't see a person who was totally shattered there..Also when the designer comes on stage and Priyanka falling on his shoulder and crying looked very comical for me.

Anyways our opinions differ and since I was one of them who compared Kareena with Priyanka I gave you my reasons.

But on topic, I don't think these awards are rigged. I'm sure in certain circumstances favouritism exists, but more often than not those who deserved it have gotten the awards. There are exceptions though: I didn't think Saif deserved an award for his role on Hum Tum. Does anyone remember who he was up against?

Kareena is a good actress, i don't believe she's reached her peak yet, and perhaps in her lifetime she will eventually earn the award, but for now Chameli and JWM is not enough.

@bold...I didn't find it either. She was good but not extraordinary. To give an example from a south Indian movie where an actress got NA for her performance is this:

She got a NA award for her performance I say it was totally justified.

I understand your reasons. I never said Priyanka was bad in the movie. Take all my posts and I did say Priyanka was good but not extraordinary. It's just a difference of opinion and I am fine with that.

Oh. It's a tamil movie Paruthi Veeran. It's was also the hero (Karthi) first movie. I haven't seen any bollywood actor so aplendid in their first movie. Do watch it but let me warm you it's a tragedy movie.
