Aish and Rani are two completley different actresses and both of them encompass different sections of the industry.
If you look at Rani she started out as that 'Ati Kya Kandhala' girl in Ghulman and then played the supporting girl in KKHH, she had a very different appeal. Nobody actually thought Rani would succeed, she was not a glam-doll and her voice didnt have that high-pitched irritating quality all actresses had, she had this raspy lowkey voice that actually got quite famous. Rani surprised everyone, she blossomed into an actress and No-one could have done Black but her.
Now. if we look at Aish i think people forget her south indian stint. She really was a star down there. Her first film was Mani Ratnam's Iruvar in which she played an aspiring actress and also politician (Jayalalitha). She was phenomenal. She then did "jeans" and also "kandikondain Kandikondain", she was great in these movies too. Aish has done her fair share of acting, and she had proven herself long before HDDCS or her relationship with Salman to me. Just as nobody could have done rani's role in black, no-one could have done Aish's role in Devdas. It might have been melodramatic and too artsy and poetic or an OTT bhansali film, but Aish's Paro was perfect. She's also an excellent dancer.
Both of these actresses were strong when they peaked, both of them made a name for themselves in different ways. I'm sure they've both changed now, and rani seems to be a 'khan' fangirl and aish a condesending bachan bride, but when they were on screen doing their best roles both of them shone, both of them when push comes to shove had their own appeal and charm. I've never hated rani/aish, i was young when they started their movies, so i grew up with their careers.
And as for their split/friendship, i don't really know the details.

Zainab I want to like this thread millions of times 🤗

I can't stand either of them, but I can't stand Aishwarya more because she sucks in contemporary roles while Rani at least tries getting it right. Onscreen, both are good in emotional serious melodrama. Besides that, Rani has the upper hand in comedies while Aishwarya sucks at it and Aishwarya is good at periodic roles while Rani not so much.

Off screen: Aishwarya and Rani, both have very similar calculating personalities beneath the veneer. No wonder they were best buddies for a while. Like attracts like. There is not much difference between them. Both have used people on their way up and both act high and mighty off screen. Both are also diplomatic to the core and really boring offscreen with no personality. Both are known for their lack of sense of humor and stupid giggles in between serious interviews.😳

Rani pretends to be warm and she is cold. But Aishwarya is cold and does not pretend otherwise either. So should I choose the frying pan or the fire? Lets ask Govinda and Vivek Oberoi.

Merelychic and Tamannachaiwali can feel free to quote me and call me hater. 😊
