Well Aish is obviously a superstar, her face is known around the world a lot more than Rani's and she has her L'oreal and other modelling stuff that Rani doesn't. Rani on the other hand is just an actress and all she has to depend on to get work is her movies and her acting. Aish like people have already mentioned doesn't depend on hits or flops to be offered more movies. Which is WHY I think Rani's filmography is even more impressive than Aishwarya's. She got some of the most enviable roles during her prime despite not actually being a superstar and I really believe it was just due to her talent that she got these amazing roles in Saathiya, and Hum Tum, Bunty aur babli, Black etc...But for me even during her earlier roles she always seemed to command the screen in a way other actresses like Aish failed to. For example Rani had just a supporting role in Veer-Zaara and Yuva and she managed to, in my opinion, stand out just as much as the other leads. For me Aish has never had the same presence on screen that Rani does, and she also doesn't have the versatility that Rani does. Aish actually got some great roles which on paper were award-worthy like Jodha Akbar but she in the end didn't deliver a convincing enough performance to win awards. And although both have done a lot of movies that they probably regret now, I think that even Rani's flop movies had an impressive performance from Rani whereas Aishwarya's acting in a lot of her flop movies (and even hit movies like Dhoom 2) was just awful. It's not like Aish has a lack of film offers so I dont understand why she doesn't select movies that'll actually do something for her ACTING career. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with Rani's performance in NOKJ, it definitely was over the top and she can do better but at least it's a step in the right direction from the likes of DBH and Thoda pyaar thoda magic. And she stood out more than Vidya atleast even if she could've done a much better job. Aish will probably have a better future in terms of staying relevant but I still think Rani has had the more enviable board of work over the last decade. And one other thing is, I think Rani is one of those rare actresses who looks good with anyone on screen. Whether it's Rani/Abhi, Rani/Saif, Rani/Khan's, Rani/Vivek, Rani/Preity, she has had immense chemistry with almost all her costars and I don't think the same can be said of Aishwarya.

As for the Chalte chalte incident, to be honest we don't know and will never know the truth because both sides have defended themselves. Even if Rani was wrong I'll still be a fan of her WORK because what she's like off screen is irrelevant to me. Off screen Rani is increasingly becoming annoying like on KWK. But I also think Aish has this air of arrogance about her so they're both annoying but I wouldn't judge their work on their offscreen personality.
