Can this comparison topic not be shut? I find these two intriguing (not really), but both of the two have had fair shares of hits, flops, and critical acclaims. Which one's more convincing? How do you rate their body of work? What do you have to say about their troubled relationships? Why doesn't ARB react...ever? Who was at fault during their fall out? Who is better off screen? Who's better on screen? Who is going to have a brighter future? Who has been their "god father" in Bollywood?...What movies should I watch of theirs to like em???

Write your responses in a sneaky way, that way the topic can't be shut due to comparison clause. So...sort of rant, I guess.

ooh thts a toughie...right now i like neither of their body of work...

but back in the hey day...rani "technically" had better directors and roles and even better performances...

but i relate better to aishwarya onscreen...i dunno maybe its just the fact tht i used to like her as a kid so tht soft corner remains...plus i kinda side with ash on the whole "chalte chalte" thing...so my balance tips towards her side

both are annoying as hell offscreen these days...but in their early days, they were quite cute...ash wasnt as fake elegant and rani wasnt as fake boisterous...both were natural, genuine and down to earth..

its sad wht time does to ppl in this industry...im starting to dislike everybody these days...ive even developed a mild dislike for kareena 😆...who knows the day might come when i actually bash Rahul khanna for being annoying *shudders*

Rani is more versatile, ARB Struggles a lot with her comic timings and so do viewers. I am not sure about the fall out, is it after AR+AB relationship 🤔 if it is then no two words we know the reason. Now that I dont know their altercation itself so can;t even throw my two cents on who was on fault. I don't watch their movie much cause I hate hypermelodramatic or larger than life movies. Still, they have some nice movies in their goody bag. I liked Rani in Jessica, Hey Ram and Black. Hmmm ARB I think my vote goes to Taal and HDDCS

I have to be honest here. Both have had a good run. However, I say Aishu is better because she did not suffer the Johar/Chopra Syndrome. Now, I am thankful that Chalte Chalte fell through because Aishu got to do so many diverse films through the years like a Chokher Bali, or Bride and Prejudice, or Dhoom 2, or Jodhaa Akbar, or Guzaarish. Rani just stuck to the Johar/Chopra camps. Sure, she did Black and other films that were not Johar/Chopra related. However, in the long run, Aishu is still working with huge directors. She is doing the main lead in Heroine. Rani may be doing a film with Kareena and Aamir, but not as the main heroine. Anyway, they both have been verstaile in their own respects. 😊

^^Ash doing "main lead" in heroine doesn't guarantee it to be sucessful film or even if she can do justice to the role.. she had the biggest FLOP last year with the so called "HUGE Director" while rani had a hit working with a small time director!

I guess I'll just end up being more biased toward Aishwariya Rai, no matter how much I try not to. Maybe this is so because she's the first Bollywood celebrity that I ever became a fan of. It is because of Aishwariya Rai that I became a fan of Bollywood in the first place.

IMO, both Aish and Rani have had their share of good/bad and convincing/unconvincing films but if I had to choose, then I'd say that Rani is the more versatile actress. I think there are some roles of Aish that Rani would be able to do convincingly, but it wouldn't work vice versa (in some cases). For example, I really liked Rani in Hum Tum, but I don't think Aish would be able to pull that off convincingly. I know I'm just making assumptions, but this is just what I think. I'm not saying that Aish is a bad actress, but I do happen to think that Rani has the upper hand here, even though she has given her share of below average/bad performances as well.
Even after I say all this, as a viewer, I can connect with Aishwariya on-screen but of course, not in all her movies. I really liked her in Taal, HDDCS, Guru, Jodha-Akbar, etc, while in movies like Dhoom 2, Action Replay, and Robot (just to name a few) she was just a big embarrassment and I did not like her 'acting' even a bit.

Off-screen...Rani has become annoying (and somewhat a clown) recently off-screen while Aishwariya is starting to bore me a little bit. These days I try to avoid reading Aish's interviews because I'm afraid she's going to start the "we the bachchans, we the best" mantra. I'm not saying that she shouldn't talk about her family, but it gets repetitious after a while. And, that giggle and fake accent(s)...it needs to go. I love her and Abhishek together though, but too much PDA...not really. 😆

Aish and Salman...they were my dream couple...like 7 years ago. If Aishwariya was the first BW female celeb that I liked, then Salman was the first BW male celeb that I became a fan of (then came SRK, Hrithik). I was too young to realize that they were actually dating at one point and by the time I was mature enough to realize that, they had already broken up and had moved on. Too bad for me. 😆
