day 13 - a film that is a guilty pleasure

day 14 - a film that no one would expect you to love

my choices are quite predictable, unfortunately... there is a movie though, which i guess nobody would expect me to dislike...! 😆😆 that would be Inception... heard a lot about the movie, and when i saw it, i was so disappointed... saw it 3 times... still don't get what the hype is, besides the special effects... it's soo-sooo...

day 15 - a film that describes you

not any movie in particular... there are certain factors in certain movies, that i would say describe me... 😳

day 16 - a film that you used to love but now dislike

i still love all the movies that i initially liked...

day 17 - a film that you hear often people talk about

Harry Potter movies (and books, of course)... 😍

i'd have to say pukar... though, i love a lot of madhuri's movies, but i'll say pukar... anil and madhuri were both awesome...!

best soundtrack... teesri manzil... i just love the songs in it...! 😃 the songs those days were just so great... aaj kal wo baat nahin hai...!

day 21 - a film of your fav director you love

i don't exactly have a favourite director... if i have to choose, i'd say deewar... it's directed by yash chopra... amit ji was sooo brilliant in it... and shashi kapoor was absolutely perfect in it... nirupa roy was the perfect mother... i just love her in this... it has such brilliant dialogues... miss salim-javed's duo... it's definitely one of my favourite movies of all times...

Day 22 : A film that could have had potentials for bigger achievements...

'Ravanan' : I hate to say this, but there was so much more that could have been done with the wonderful pool of resources available... no complaints, this movie is still on my all-time fave list, but I wanted more from the Tamil version, don't know why... It wasn't just enough 😳😃

day 29- a film that you would re-make

Film:The Graduate

This is one of my fav films. I have too many fav films that I would to remake, but this one would be pretty awesome to remake. I think this role might suit Andrew Garfield of The Social Network.

Day 23- your favorite documentary film?

One of my favorites is...
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room

I never understood what Enron was until i watched the film...its smartly done.

And recently i watched CNN freedom project. . .Demi Moore's 'Nepal's Stolen Children'
And i liked it...its not one of the best but the issue that its about really has me hooked. Serious issue.

Day 23 : My fave documentary film...

I don't watch many of them, but if I have to pick a few... then here are my choices.

'Gorillas in the Mist' : Love and Compassion has no language barrier, Dian Fossey is an inspirational person 😃

'Triumph of the Will' : I have a soft corner for Adolf Hitler... So this has to be on my fave list 😳

'Ancient Aliens' : Currently I m catching up on Season 1&2, and gearing up for Season 3. I like it so far 😃

These last two are not exactly documentaries, but I still like them...

'The man from Earth' : Nice... What if one of us is actually more than a 1000yrs old 😆 With everyone preserving their stem cells at birth, it's not totally unbelievable 😛

Disclaimer : I ignore the religious parts in all movies, not just this one alone. So it doesn't bother me, but I know it bothers many others.

'Confessions of a filmmaker' : Pretty controversial, one of the best ones in Telugu industry. It's sad they never released or screened the movie... It had a limited time release on the internet, and hasn't come back ever again. I would have missed it too, if I wasn't following Kamal's blog.

day 25 - a film from your childhood:

LOL... It has to be Saajan... My sister has been a huge Salman fan since MPK times...

Around late 90/early91, the shooting was going on in Ooty... My aunt who lives there who knew abt my sis's obsession with Salman informed her that she knew where the shooting was going on... Then my sis eventually convinced my parents to take her there... I was mighty upset abt it...

I was in early elementary and I had a school sports day which I was missing bcoz of her... I apparently sulked and whined the whole drive... I do have a faint recollection of all this but the details have been filled in thru the years by my sister and parents...

Anyways... We eventually reached Ooty and I remember my sis who was a teen back then all excited and jumpy jumpy... 😆 The next day dawned very early for her and she was up at an odd hour and all set to go to the shooting location at 5... I rather preferred sleeping than go and meet a star at that hour... They came back by noon after meeting him and I have never seen my sis so happy and thrilled except maybe when she had her kiddies...

Eventually the picture of her and Salman together was developed and enlarged and it had a special place at our home in Bangalore all thru our growing years... Eventually when she moved here that framed picture was her prized posession and it travelled all the way here and it occupies a special place on her kitchen wall...

Bcoz of that particular picture we have had so many conversations regarding the movie with friends and family who come home and look at it and the whole story abt her excitement and my sulking is repeated for the umpteenth time...

Thanks to my sister, I have lost count on the number of times I have watched this movie when I was a kid...

When I look back now, those are some wonderful memories and each time the movie comes up on TV its very nostalgic... 😊

The Miracle Worker, Children of a Lesser God, Moonstruck, The Piano ,I Am Sam are movies that showcases people with disability and how they overcome it. I realize that rather than complaining about the smallest things I should be grateful for the fact that I lead a life without any major struggle.
